Keeping my fingers crossed the new fur baby works out. I have just the opposite problem. I have cats I have to get rid of. Out here in the 'country' my house gets strays. I think there must be a light on over our house! We've actually caught them leaving the driveway at 3am after dumping mama cat and kittens! Right now I have 3 from a last litter that are about 6 months old and a new mama cat with 3 kittens about 6-7 weeks old. Everyone I know already avoids me, knowing I'm going to try to give them a cat!  LOL! Since we are unincorporated I'll have to take them into Houston to the SPCA. I hate to do that because it's just a death sentence, they stay full of cats and don't hesitate to put them to sleep.

So if anyone in the Houston area wants to adopts some very loveable kittys, PLEASE let me know!

Good morning Marcy & all,

I am up physically but my brain is still asleep. Even the cats are quiet this morning. All I can hear is the neighborhood rooster crowing and the sounds of the coffee gurgling in my tummy. It is always noisy after eating or drinking. tummy, not the Rooster

I had to park on the top floor of the parking ramp. In the 'olden days' I would have taken the elevator without a second thought. Not now. I walked down and back up without any strain and a stupid smile on my face. Yeah, we don't want to forget how good it feels to be free of that burden of obesity.

Kisses
Annette

  Annette,
Morning..no coffee for me..just my morning protein shake..gosh I need to get my tiny butt in gear or I'll be late for my class with no student in it cause I'm sure she is probably still sick.

Love it too...I can walk up three flights of stairs to my daughter's apartment.  At the top she is gasping, I just stand there waiting for her to open the door.  I don't get winded anymore...I try hard never to forget what it felt like to be 347 pounds..I like the feeling of 147 better!!!

Talk to you later...CALL YOUR PCP OR BETTER YET BUG DR. M...HE NEEDS TO TALK TO YOU!!!!

Love ya,
 Marcy

I'm with you Annette.  Now when my son parks his truck in BFE so it doesn't get a door ding, I don't mind the walk.  In fact, I almost enjoy it because I can do it with ease!  Life is good.

Hi Marcy, glad you got to start the thread today!

Bummer you have to go to work and not have anything to do. I always think of the many things at home that need taken care of when a client cancels and the last minute or doesn't show. Lately the weather has been so nice that I've gone out for a walk around the homes behind the salon. At least I feel I'm getting something done.

I went shoe shopping yesterday. Something that I really dislike doing. I don't like shoes as I am a barefoot kind of gal. But, it's kind of hard to do hair in bare feet....they'd end up looking like Hobbit feet...lol. So, off I went, nothing to show for it by the end of the day but a sweater I found on a clearance rack for $10!  Ended up being a good day because of it, but I still need new shoes. AGH!

My dang elbow is still acting up so I think it's time to see the Ortho for a shot. AGH again!

Alright, it's time to go try to make myself presentable for the day. Spackle and spray!  Hope everyone has a great day. Good thoughts to Nan.....hope you're better soon, sweetie!!

Morning Susan..

Yep she (my student) didn't show again today..but, on the good side of this..many of our students have the flu, regular and H1N1..so I would rather they stay home.

Good shoes are hard to find..like you I'm on my feet alot during the day.  Good shoes can also be expensive, but I'm worth it.  Have you ever looked into a pair of Birkenstock clogs or Birki's???  I
love them and will not wear anything else.  I find really cute ones on line..some are $100 or more, but I can find deals on QVC or sometimes on the Birkenstock websites, especially if you like their sale items or discontinues ones.  Just a suggestion.  EArth shoes are pretty comfy too!!!

I just can't do heels anymore..broke my ankle wearing high heels...that was the end of them.  I would rather be comfortable than styling with shoes, but I have to admit, that I get lots of compliments on my Birkis.

I don't like to shop either..love to shop online..not so much in the stores.
  Well have a good day..
Hope shoe shopping goes better for you next time.

Yes, I'd rather sick folks stayed home too. It's amazing to me how someone who is sick can come to the salon for their appointment and infect everyone around. The amount of people who can get sick from one inconsiderate person is amazing when you factor in how many come through our doors every day, then home to their own families!  Yep, I say let her stay where she is!!!

I've had really good luck with Ecco brand shoes. I have two pair now that I paid over $100 each for, but I"ve worn them just about every day for a couple of years!  I gave up cheap shoes many years ago when I was heavy and my feet hurt all the time. Now, since my ruptured Achilles, I can't wear heels and just feel more sure of my footing wearing flats.

Actually, now that you mention it, I might do some online looking at Eccos since I know what size I wear in them.

TTFN!

New Balance ... the only shoes I wear. They cost me $90. A lot of money for shoes, but I have such bad feet ... and I have orthotics in them too. I had flat feet as a kid, wore the ugly brown orthotic shoes and it didn't cure the pronation. Now at least you don't have to wear the orthotic shoes, you put them inside your shoes, but they still cost an arm and a leg ($350).

Oh, and I have really warm sheepskin slippers I got from New Zealand online. They last forever. I bought them after my first knee surgery and they're still going strong.
