What's new Thursday?
Well, its been a long time since I posted here, but thought I would check in and see who all was still around. Good to see the usual crowd still active on here.
As for me, Im maintaining pretty well, cant complain at all. Still feeling great except for this newly developed arthritis in my hands. Not pretty , those bumps and the pain is awful. Oh well,,part of the aging process I guess. At least it lets me know that I am still alive! LOL
I have been busy lately with family, I have a new great grandbaby, and his mom has been having a rough time since he was born so I have been helping out. She had to have her gall bladder out when he was 2 months old and has had complications with that.
Then another grandson , age 18, decided he wanted to go live on the Sioux Indian Reservation in Montana with his dad, and has virtually thrown his life away with drugs and gangs. Heartbreaking but what can ya do when they reach that age? They gotta make their own choices, and learn to live with the consequences.
Not a lot planned for today, just cleaning and sorting and throwing or giving stuff away, The clutter is starting to smother me,,too many books and junk, so freecycle has been kept busy! Getting ready to put up the Christmas tree soon, and I want to give the house a good cleaning first. Can ya believe its almost that time again??
Great to read all your posts and know that you all are still here. Jeannie, I hate to hear about your complications! Hope they get better soon!
Have a great day everyone!
Betsy

Hi Eileen and all my OFF friends,
Work is changing us from a paycheck every week to every two weeks. This is really hurting me this month because I'll only receive three weeks worth of money. The fourth week I won't get until the end of the first week in Dec. My bill paying is figured out by at least four weeks of pay in a month. I may have to borrow from the credit card until next month.
I will have two hours of overtime this week. I came in an hour earlier this morning for a meeting and it was canceled at 3:42 a.m. this morning. Like I was going to get that message before I came in. There were two others that came in for nothing. The rest called in from home which is what I should have done. Fridays I always have to be in early for an R&D meeting.
I'm dying my hair tonight . . . there is a half inch of roots showing. I did real well with my eating yesterday so I'm very optomistic for today as well. I'm getting my vitamins in as well.
Hubby had major stomach problems this morning and went in late to work. He is obese. But he is not around me all the time and eats garbage at breakfast and lunch at work. So just eating a meat and vegetable at dinner with me isn't helping him much. His only exercise after work is tilting back in the recliner. But we all know he has to want to do it. I remember when someone said something to me about my weight it just made me want to eat more, so I don't say anything.
It's looking like it will be a nice day for walking at lunchtime.
Hugs and prayers to all who need and want them.
Bev

Morning Eileen & OFFr's,
Though by now it must seem like the nighttime to you (lol). . . I rooted for the Phils, but only because my Mets were not in it and neither was my heart, nuf said. . .
Nice to see everyone today and hope that all suffering ills, whether they be physical or emotional, that tomorrow dawns better and brighter for you!
For me, nothing to report, we'll see what the day brings, HR is here today to address some issues going on around this place, though I doubt strongly anything can be done, satellite offices seem to have greater license to do as they wish and if you are in with the right people, you can pretty much do what you want. . . oh well, it's a job and a paycheck. . .
Hoping for this day to come a happy close. . .
Wishing you all a good day, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Good morning to my OFF family! It is still morning here for another 15 minutes so I am in under the wire.
What a day in this mad house! Kayden is here and screaming because I am not holding him constantly and Bill is sick with the flu. He started with that last night. He has the hot and cold flashes, terrible body aches, coughing and vomiting. He laid all night last night just repeating "help me" and I almost did...by knocking him out! Trust me...that would have helped both of us! ha ha
I am not sure what is wrong with my baby boy. He is in the mood to be held constantly and for most of the morning that is what I have done. I just put him down because he was sleeping and bam! he wakes up, finds out that I am not under him and screaming starts. He is screaming but no tears...boy he is one mad little guy today. I have to go to WalMart sometime today and so he will like that. He travels right along with me these days.
The sun is out and shinning brightly. I love days like that. It was cold this morning but it has warmed up. It is suppose to get in the high 50's today. I bet it gets there...but we all know that looks can be deceiving...the sun makes it seem like it is always warm.
I better get going. He is not stopping and he is screaming "mama" and staring at me. That is what he calls me and he calls Bill "dada". I know that is because that is the only words he knows how to call us. I keep saying Grandma and Grandpa thinking that sometime he is going to be able to say them. I know it will some time from now but that is how he learns. He just kicked off his shoe....
I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are being said for everyone. Have a great day and spread the sunshine around...especially where it is darkest.

or just feeling unloved due to stresses at home...feeling "needy" i guess????that would cause extra wanting of you being right there.....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Margo, Kayden is now almost 6 and a half months old. He is teething but nothing is popping through yet.
I think that some of it is the turmoil at home and some is he isn't feeling well...he has been sneezing a lot and has some coughing too. Just a lot more sneezing. Of course his mom had the flu about a week and a hal*****oo....and she was at home but across the living room....which is about 10 feet away! At least Bill was in the bedroom all day and we were out in the living room.

Not much news here, either. I continue to follow the program and do what I'm supposed to do. No one has yet said they noticed anything. And I'm down almost 40 pounds, but I do know it takes time when you're as heavy as me. I feel it, clothes are baggier, which is a great indicator.
We aren't doing a lot this week. Michael has a show this weekend (he is a jewelry designer/maker) - an indoor art fair. I always help him with those. It's just on Saturday so Sunday is for relaxing. We also have next Wednesday off for Veterans' Day, which is great. Work is OK. Not great, but lucky to have it, I guess. Not looking forward to another cold Minnesota winter.
I'm still thrilled I got my surgery and that things are going so well. I've had NO ill effects - nothing. I just follow what they tell me and it's working.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
