Heading out this morning for a funeral about 80 mi from here...then no clue... I have a map and a GPS.... packed.  Sister going with me.... so it will be good company.

Taking part of winnings from last Winstar trip... may try again.

May try Medifast...for a week..but it's just discipline... I have none... NONE.

Hugs.

 Hello Eileen and fellow OFFers,

It seems like the middle of the night but its only 11:33p.m.  I went to bed around 8:30.. couldn't stay awake.  I'm getting ready to head back to bed soon.  I've been really tired lately.  I get up early each morning to babysit the girl upstairs.  Its easy enough but I get up between 4:00 - 5:30 a.m.  sometimes when I get to her apt. I'm wide awake and can't get back to sleep.

when she gets on the school bus I head over to the nearby park and walk around it.  My total walk is about 1.5 miles.  The weather has been perfect.  Cold in the morning and warmer in the day.  The fog on the lake is stunning.  Sometimes the mist is coming up and other times the trees show their reflections in the water.  There is a lot of activity with walkers, especially with the dogs.

Today I head to the Dr for a regular check up.  My Dr retired and I have a new gal.  I'm trying to give her the benefits of being new but I lack confidence in her so far.  She doesn't seem to know much about gastric byepass.  I use to have my lab work done every 3 months but he doesn't do that... am wondering why... also when I had her run my blood work she just wrote a note stating everything was normal but didn't give me a break down of what my numbers are.   I'm hoping for a referral to the endocrinologist to check out my hypoglycemia.

Mom comes home on Friday and I'll be glad to have her back.  I want to get back into a routine especially for meals.  I don't seem to do too well when I'm by myself... (heavy sigh)

Well, hope everyone has a wonderful day.... full of smiles and laughter,

Millie

Millie,

Can you eat nuts, as in almonds. . .  keep some in your purse and snack on 'em when you feel an attack of the hypoglycemia. . .  my surgeon said, with our new stomas, we have to keep our protein going. . .  for me, anyway, it seems to have worked. . .

Good luck and take care. . .

 Laureen,

Thanks for the reply.  I have questions for you... and others with hypoglycemia.  I do eat almonds, quite a lot.  I eat more proteins than other foods, may be why I don't lose like I did.

What does your daily diet look like?  Are you able to eat six small meals and still lose the weight.  I just can't seem to get a handle on this.  When I try to eat to lose I end up sick.  I know I overeat to keep from dropping and I tend to eat too much.

I need to get back on track .... yet I don't know that I ever have been.... sigh

Any comments will help

Millie

millie-jumping in here for a second-when i have hypo episodes it seems to be becuz i have eaten way too much protein(for a few days-not just one day)  and almost NO carbs--so i have to put in some more "complete protein" like a pb cracker or rice and beans or something....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

 Thanks  Margo,

I understand....  I eat chili almost everyday for lunch and PB& crackers during the day.

I had an appt with my PCP today and she has referred me to the endocrinologist.  It seems there is more going on.   I have oatmeal w/cranraisins & a slice of bacon in the morning....  Chili for lunch and meat veggies and carb for dinner.   there may be one day a week that I don't follow this routine.  I do eat a lot of protein ....

Making a menu and journaling is so hard to do but such a key element in this mix of do's and don'ts.  We shall see what finally comes of it....
