I'm sure the work thing will get better. Well, maybe. Trying to be positive here.

OMG  what a horrid situation for Christa, the therapist.....  just a sad thing to happen.  Sure does put things into perspective.

Huggs for all who know her...

Happy November everyone!
Today is cool and cloudy on Long Island.  It was a good morning to change my linens and do laundry.  Somehow those jobs wait for me and don't get done until I do them.  I also cleaned my bird's cage and fed both of my boys - Fagel Bird and Meco Katz. I'm reading the new Dan Brown book.  It is a fantastic read!  Tonight Steve & I will be watching the Yankee game!  Go Yankees!

Hi Carla and my OFF family:

Just got off the phone with my friend Mary Kay, who was talking me off the ledge again. Work related problems. I spent most of last night doing absolutely nothing. I got a full page to do, but most of the stories were late games, so there I sat, waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting. I read one magazine ... finished that, then read another; played online a bit; ate my lunch, read my magazine, got two stories on the page, got my photos, waited, waited, waited ... well, you get the picture. Finally, at 11 p.m., the guy in charge comes by and says he's caught up and can finish the page because I'm supposed to leave at 11:30 p.m. Well, why did they have me come in at 3:30 p.m. if their deadline is  12:30 a.m., and I have a page with all late stories? I was so frustrated. It's hard enough for me to sit there with my knee down in pain and my back in pain with nothing to do ... and then not produce anything all night. I felt pretty worthless. So Mary Kay helps me get through this, because I can't complain about it at work. She gave me some good suggestions. I am going to talk to my boss about one thing ... there are things I could be doing while I'm waiting that would help out the news desk, but I don't want to step on anyone's toes (Dan, on the Sunday desk, suggested it, but he didn't want to overstep his boundaries either.).

Mary Kay also suggested I may be getting pushed out because of my surgeries and recent sick days (although I haven't taken that many days off other than the surgeries). I know that's discriminatory, but they can find ways around that. She feels she was pushed out the same way (she had heart issues and was out a lot). I know no one will admit it, of course.

No trick or treating here, of course, because I wasn't home. I got home in time to see the end of the World Series game ... the Yankees won, so I wasn't happy.

Well, I should get to the Bears game ... at least they should win this one ... they're playing the Browns. Good day of football and baseball ahead ... laundry, litter boxes, reading ... not thinking about work. Two days off ... heaven!

Have a good day.

Hello and good afternoon.
What a BEAUTIFUL day here (weather)...sun is shining but the is a nice breeze and no humidity.  Just gorgeous!

My day started with a fabulous 1 hour bike ride.....best ride I've had since my last surgery.  I'm almost up to full speed and distance.

WOW I was caught off guard by the amount of kids I saw trick or treating around my development.  There were actually cars full of people who parked up at the clubhouse and then turned the kids loose. It was far more than I ever say back home in NY.  Kind of reminded me of when I was a kid.....seems like there were a lot going out when I still trick or treating.  One boy hid to the side of my front door as I opened the door his friend was in front of me.....I didn't see the other boy to the side....then he suddenly stepped forward and scared the daylights out of me!!!

I'm exhausted right now.....I've been emptying suitcases that all my extra sheets and towels packed into them, so I washed them all today....that was 4 or 5 loads full!!!!  Washed, dried and folded.....I have not put them away yet.   I hung curtains in the 2nd guest bedroom...makes it look so much nicer.  I tried to change the shower curtain in the "pool bath" but could not reach the rod so I need to wait for help.   I spilled 1/2 a 10 lb bag of dog food on the garage floor this morning and had to sweep it up....what a mess!!!!!!!!!!!!   I cleaned 3 bathrooms and vacuumed the master bedroom and bath.  I can't believe how tired I feel.  And now I have a wicked headache.....going to lay down for a few mins.

Looking forward to ballgame tonight!  NY is on fire.....

Oh, that reminds me.....I have to clean the carpet where the dog threw up earlier.  Some days it never ends.
