Thursday's what's new revue
Aloha Margo and OFF family.......
It's 6:45 a.m. and I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital and test babies for a colleague, but she called and said she had done the one vaginal delivery baby, and the other three were sections, so I can do them tomorrow. Now....I'm off to cover for the receptionist at Imua Family Services for the whole day. My life has suddenly become FULL and a little busier than I'd like, but I am grateful for the extra cash....keeps me from coming up with creative financial plans!!
Yesterday I tested babies in the morning and the drive to the hospital was absolutely awesome. The road goes along the side of the West Maui Mountains (Karen C....the road from Maalaea to Wailuku), and in the darkness of 5:30 a.m., you can see the lights of Kahului, the harbor and the valley. There was a cruise ship docked and the lights were beautiful. It was a wonderful way to begin a long day.
Annette....so glad about your blood work results!! Not so much about the hernias.....but at least you have an answer. You sound so much better today.
Judy....tooth pain is the worst (besides headaches...IMHO). I can't imagine that your dentist did TWO root canals and you still feel pain. i think I would have the damned thing pulled, too.
So many others of you facing life's challenges. I just hope you find ways to get through them and on to the other side. I'm always in awe of how intimate the sharing is in here..........it's quite wonderful.
Having popped in for a read and a share....I'm off to get ready to go to work.

Nothing too new or exciting here. I went to see the doctor's nurse and the nutritionist at my Bariatric clinic yesterday. It was a bit anticlimatic, as neither the nurse nor the nut congratulated me on the 31 pounds I'm down since before the two-week liquid diet. Oh, well. They are'nt my cheerleaders - I can get that elsewhere. DH came with me, and was very helpful. I'm still walking with a cane (nearly a year out from total knee replacement) and I want so bad to lose weight and be able to walk without assistance!

WOW, 31 lbs. Good for you! Don't you just hate when they don't recognize losses but they do notice when you are up a few lbs. My hubby is a year out from knee and hip replacement, right side, and is doing fabulously. He still tends to use it as an excuse to be waited on occasionally but I've started to call him on it. Once the weight starts coming off you will get there fast.

Hi Margo and my OFF family:
Sorry you are having problems at work ... when are you quitting and heading north? Any chance to stop for a visit, even a short one for coffee? Would love to see you, even just for a chat as you head up 131.
It's windy but warm today ... 62 ... the leaves are all blowing off the trees ... the answer is blowin' in the wind as Peter Paul & Mary used to sing. The lawns outside are a blanket of yellow and red and orange. At least it's not white. Landscapers are out with the leaf vacuums.
Paycheck got in the bank early yesterday, like 10:30 p.m. I checked it online while I was at work, waiting for stories to come in. I have to learn to pace myself there ... I sit there and wait when I come in, then hurry up to get things done at the end of my shift. It's the nature of sports.
I was busy this morning getting my shopping done, going to the credit union, getting prescriptions, etc. I'm tired now, need a nap before work tonight.

Good afternoon all my OFFer's. Hope your day are going well. Mine is doing pretty good....so I happy.
It is fairly nice out today. The temperatures are in the high 50's and the sun is out at times. It is nice to go without a jacket but then you get a *****illy so I carry it with me and end up putting it on only to take it off because I get way too warm. Sometimes I am never happy I guess.
I had a meeting at church this morning to finish the budget for next year. I had to get the raise passed for Pastor so I can do my charge conference forms tomorrow. I am going to be so happy when they are all done and on the way to the district office. By this time tomorrow my nightmare will be done....smiles and big ones at that. I have another meeting tonight and I think that Bill is going with me too. It is on the 5 Practices of a fruitful congregation. Just another boring book is all I have to say....
I guess I should get moving! I have things to do before getting ready for the meeting tonight. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are being said for everyone too. Don't forget to spread the happiness and joy and your beautiful smiles too........

Renewed my commitment to myself to eat better today. I decided not to hurt myself by eating because hubby acts like such a jerk sometimes and it upsets me. I need to get a backbone and just start telling him to knock it off. But I hate confrontation.
I put in an extra hour on Fridays every week so I'm thinking of leaving an hour early today. I want to bring up the trash cans from the street and get supper started without it being dark. Sunday is going to hit me like a sledgehammer when it's dark before 5:00 p.m. BooHoo.

I'm always so late at posting...
Today was my early early day at school..had a class at 7am...student was a no show. I had 5 schools today and 7 kids to see and I saw 3. All the rest are home sick..some with the H1N1..some with flu like symptoms..alot of kids out of school today.
I just read in the paper that the gov has issued a state of emergency for NY due to the H1N1..hoping it will make them hurry up and bring more vacine to the state.
I just got my plain old flu shot today..after surgery three weeks ago I don't want to get sick. My hands are so dry from using Purell all day and washing in between.
One more day and then the week end YIPEE...I have to go to the hospital on Sat. for blood work.
It never ends. Glad to hear people are doing better..
John they do test the kids in school for vision and hearing ..but its basic at best.. I have student with hearing loss that can pass the hearing test in school but won't pass with an audiologist. Schools don't have up to date testing equipment..they just use an eye chart and it takes about 2 min. at most.
Well everyone sleep tight tonight...its going to be chilly here again..for me back to the classroom again tomorrow..then a break.

Hello everyone!
My 88 year old mom is in the hospital with a GI bleed. She's been there for six days, and is not looking great. My 70 year old sister and her husband have the H1N1 flu. Yikes! I'm a busy nurse lately.
My job is not going well. I used to LOVE it, and now I dread going to work. It just might be time to start looking for something else. I've been here 25 years, but things change - and I either need to change with them, or find someplace else, right?
