I recently realized...

that when I made my profile private, I may have made it so my OFF friends could not see my profile. Some of you who have been here a while may remember I didn't share my WLS with all the people in my life at the time due to some nastiness at my job. I found out that if my user name was googled, which is part of my e-mail address, anyone could read my posts and profile...not just members. So...being paranoid and going through the stuff I went through, while it may have been too late and the horses were already out of the barnyard, I made my profile private. If anyone here wants to friend me, and it's OK if you don't, feel free. Just didn't want to seem like I was not being friendly to all of you here in this wonderful spot of caring and support we call OFF.

ETA: This was the nastiness at my last job, not at the one I have now.

I had no idea that you could google the email address (or part 0f it) and come up with that stuff.  I now too made mime profile for friends only.  I will accept all as friends but  this is not for those out there that I have not told.  I have family members who say it is a cheat and lazy person's way to handle being over weight.  I didn't need the hassle.  But thanks fo the info.

Hey Cheryl,

Sort of addressed this already, so I guess this is a hijack of a sort for those who did not know this and might have issues with it, so it's a good thing you brought it up. . .

FYI, some don't know this. . .  but about two years ago I googled my name to see what would come up and guess what. ..   my name came up with this link, which for me I don't mind, however, if you have any privacy issues, than I suggest you do your own google search and see what comes up and act accordingly ;)

Have a great day everyone!

Hugs, Laureen
