Tuesday Happenings
I LOVE the Tudors! I am waiting patiently for season 3 from Netflix. A long wait I know. But really worth it. I am so glad I didn't live back then. I am reading World Without End now. The sequel to Pillars of the Earth. I am SO glad I was not born back in those days! Whew! I know I would of heard "OFF with her head!"
We never touch people so lightly we do not leave a trace.

Two very good books ... you will love the second book. I read them both. I love historical fiction. Let's see ... Season 2 came out sometime early last year, so expect Season 3 sometime in February, I guess. I got Season 2 for my birthday (in April) from my brother, but because I watch baseball all summer, it's been slow going (and because Kim and I have been watching it together on Monday nights, it's been slow ... now we don't have the same nights off anymore).
I'm at lunch and have to hurry to post. My dog Darla threw up four times last night- not a little- a lot. She seemed to be OK this morning so I'm hoping it wasn't a big deal. She's our OLD baby and I worry... each upset and I'm thinking that euthanasia is right around the corner. I am getting my hair colored after work this afternoon- if you lived here I'd be your regular Susan. I usually touch up my roots between visits but this time I didn't. I have almost an inch of silver/white. Looks Halloweeny, that's for sure!
My husband and I are going to San Diego with our sister and brother-in-law the week after Christmas. We will be staying on a houseboat. That will be a first for me. We'll fly and rent a car...even though San Diego is in CA it is way the heck down there- almost a 2 hour flight from Sacramento.
Back to work now- come on West Coasters.... time to post!

Well, I'm late posting today. Vacuum sealed 4# of dried cherries, did the dishes, raked some and talked to the neighbors. Woke up with a bad headache this morning, so laid on the couch and went back to sleep for 2.5 hours! Feel better now. I'm losing very slowly now, but at least I'm still losing. I expected to be around 80 pounds down at 6 months, but if I keep losing this slowly it won't happen. That's ok, I didn't put it all on in 6 months so...
The sun is sort of out (off and on) today, so it looks like I'll be taking the dogs for their walk this afternoon. At least I won't be walking in the rain.
The last two fingers on my left hand are still numb which makes typing difficult. The strength is diminishing too. I'll ask my pcp in November about it.
The septic drain field is finally all reamed out and draining well again. Mr. Rooter came through ($3,600 later).
Millie, my friend Judy is a big quilter. She plans vacations around quilt shows and quilt stores. She and her sister have traveled to Texas specifically to attend a quilt show, they didn't even have anything entered. I made one, a queen sized bed spread quilt, and when I started hand quilting it I realized I would never fini**** I took it to an Amish girl in Shipshewanna and paid her to hand quilt it for me. At least I made the quilt itself. It made me nauseous. Hand sewing is fine for me, but sewing by machine makes me sick. I wi**** was relaxing for me like it is for other people. I feel the same about gardening, but it doesn't make me sick! :)
How old are your granddaughters? You could always make them a special stuffed animal (maybe out of an old piece of their clothing that they loved) and put a heart inside and tell them your heart is in there for them.
Well, Gotta get walking before the sun goes behind the clouds.

Hi Millie and all my OFF friends,
The Cub Scout Halloween Party was so much fun - bobbing for apples, donut eating contest - no hands, costume judging, decorated pumpkin judging. Goody bags, cupcakes and drinks. The kids enjoyed it so much. I bobbed for an apple. I got down on my knees to bend over the barrel and did it on the second try. I had to go under the water and get my whole face and bangs wet to do it. This never would have happened before wls. The kids went wild with laughter.
I've got nothing planned for the rest of the week. My house is too far off the road to even get trick or treaters on Sat. That's OK though. I'm going to host Thanksgiving for Hubby's family and my son, dil and grandkids will be coming to stay with us. The house needs a major overhaul of cleaning.
I love to sew and wish I had more time for it. You've given me the idea to make some aprons for the grands. I'll make them a little more art oriented with pockets for markers and such. I also plan to make puppets for the grandkids for Christmas and hubby will make them a puppet theater from plywood, which I will paint. I sent their Halloween box out today with all kinds of presents and goodies. Can't wait to hear they got it.
It's dark and rainy here. Kind of gloomy. I'm hoping it will pass by tomorrow.
Hugs and good wishes for everyone's health and happiness.

Millie,
I'm an avid sewer too. I made my best friend aprons for every holiday as a gift one year. Every, holiday, even St. Patricks day. She loves them.
Whenever I re-do one of my childrens rooms I make them a teddy bear out of some of the old material from in the room. They are teenagers now ands still remember the drapes from their baby years from the teddy bears.
Now I am making Memory Bears for people. I started by making Teddy bears for a friend with fabric from her fathers shirts when he passed away. She is giving them to her daughters to remember their grandfather.

An apron for every holiday would be fun. And the bears out of the room fabric.. how cute is that. We have quilts made by gramma out of the dress fabric mom use to make our clothes from. Right now I have so many sewing projects that I don't need to start new ones for quite some time. Today one of my groups made slippers. Ohhhh they are cute, funky and warm.... I think my grandkids will be getting some for gifts.
