What's new Monday?

Well, rain again here.  Mr. Rooter is in the front yard digging up my drain fields again today.  Poor guy has to dig by hand in the rain.  I guess at least he has a job.
Since my microwave took a crap yesterday I'm hoping to get into town today to buy a new one.  Nothing else planned for the day today.  I just hope that he can get the drain field fixed so I don't have any further problems.  They give a five year warranty on this so I'll be at ease about future problems.  Just hope he's right and it is the drain field that's causing the problems.  If it's not, they will be fixing the problem free.

The last two fingers of my left hand are still numb.  I asked my surgeon and he said the Actigall I was on could cause neuropathy.  I'm off Actigall now, so I'll give it a month and see what happens.  It's pretty hard to type since those two fingers don't want to work very well.  I'll check again with my pcp in November.

morning eileen and OFF family....

man what a night!! i hurt all over so bad it woke me up several times all night long...hips especially are the most hurting. took a couple tylenol arthritis pills and hope they kick in soon!!!

counted the flowers up last night and i think i made enough for the whole afghan so i started hooking it together....sot one row done and started on the second row...got almost to the end and found a mistake...grrrrrrr rick said he didn't see it but then i do!!!! makes me upset that i messed up so soon into it!!! not sure if i can fudge over it or not but i will probably tear it all out and start over again....just makes for longer hooking together....also now the hives will start on my arms form holding so much yarn....will put some lotion on like pat suggested and i will also wear long sleeves...but the long sleeves didn't help before so hopefully the lotion will!! it is looking really pretty so far if i do say so myself!!! :-)

working 1-5 today and that makes me happy...just can't take people lately and their kids and the messes they ALL make!!! i need a vacation!!!!

talked to my mom last night and she is thinking of coming for a visit here!!!!!!!!! WOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! i told rick and he is happy that she will come for awhile so we can spend some time together. now IF she comes.....i hope so!!!! i miss my mom so much!!! since i moved away she just doesn't do anything anymore. so if she comes i will take my vacation while she is here.

well best get my shower in and go see about the estimate on my car where the guy hit it. then call insurance and see what they say about all my misfortune....i still can't believe all this crap happening at once. :-(

prayers and thoughts for all that need them...smile....even if its hard to do...it does make you feel better and also those that you smile at it makes them feel better also!!! ;-)

Hi Everyone and those to come yet!

This morning the sun is out but cool.  I love the sun and it makes me wish the winter would stay just like it is today.  Wishful thinking.

Yesterday we went to church and then off to my in laws for dinner.   We ate and then played about four games of spades.   They enjoy the company and the card playing.   My mother in law gave me some new pants and shorts and tops she can't fit in but bought for herself.  I am happy since most of my clothes are way too big for this winter.

We are planning to spend time in Florida in Dec.   First time hubby and I are going away in 16 years.  Going to stay at the in laws condo in Ft Meyers,.  They are going also.   Some warm weather to look forward to.

Put on a pot of chicken soup and will make toasted cheese sandwiches to go with it.  A nice fall meal.  I can't eat the noodles but I can drink the broth and have a few vegies I am going to add to it.

My father in law made beet salad and gave me a jar.  I tried it yesterday and it is to die for if you love beets like I do.  I think they are pretty good for you though.

I hope everyone stays well and happy.   Those that are having problems are in my prayers.

Judy, Pretend you're Quaker or Amish. They DELIBERATELY  made at least one mistake in quilts because they believed no human was PERFECT.  So there you go! A mistake shows you are human . . .

Gee, it must be the weather ... everybody's hurting. I wrenched my back this morning bending down to pick up my purse on the way out the door to the movie (saw "Time Traveler's Wife" ... oh, it was such a good movie ... for $3.99).

Hope you feel better ... try some ice packs on your back ... or alternate with ice and heat (I wanted to stop at the chiropractor but he wasn't open when I got there (he must open at 2:30 p.m., and it was just after 2). So I'll have to go tomorrow morning.

The weekend flew by here in Minneapolis - but it was a good one.  Saturday we went to the WLS support group coffee and they told me I was the "poster child" for doing everything right!  That made me feel good.

Sunday was a huge birthday party for 5 younger friends who are all turning 50 around this time.  They called it a 250th birthday bash!  In the morning I went to friends' house to help decorate the 5 cakes she made from scratch (each birthday person got to pick their favorite!).  That was fun. Went home and helped Michael put together a nice pasta salad for the party.  The group supplied drinks and cake, and the rest of us (about 75 or so family and friends) contributed to the food table.  I never visited the food table or the appetizer table or the cake.  Just drank water.   There were 3 live bands that played throughout the afternoon and I even danced a couple of times!  It was FUN!!!

Today is work and then home to relax.  Not much more to report for now.  Everything is going along pretty well.  I have my post op appt on Wednesday.  It will be a month since my surgery!

All is status quo here...plugging along with the legal and rental stuff but not much to show for either endeavor yet except a cleaner house and bank account.  I'm counting that as progress. Carl has taken to licking his paw so much that he's made a raw spot, kind of the canine equivalent of thumb sucking, probably from boredom.  I can't find anything else wrong with the paw.  So for now he isn't walking with me and that probably creates more boredom but what's a Dog Ma to do?  He also isn't very interested in his dog food lately, a big change for him.  He may be eating someone else's food on his morning neighborhood patrol.  He eventually eats late in the day when no people food is forthcoming.   I received a plenitude of quince which is inedible raw.  Did some research, cooked and canned quince jam yesterday to give away at Christmas time.  I've identified a new garden project that will require quite a bit of dirt shoveling but not much money.  May wait for more rain to make the ground softer before undertaking (pun intended) the digging. There is a costume party at the Running Iron on Saturday with the band Cheeky Spanks playing.  Should be fun and I have my medieval maiden with major cleavage costume to wear.  My son Tom will be moving from near Bakersfield to Temecula near San Diego in a couple of weeks.  So I may drive over to see him before he gets farther away.
Finally managed to change my avatar one year post op.  Have a wonderful week.

Linda - I have one dog with seasonal allergies and her vet told me that licking the paw is a sympton of this.  She licks her paws a lot lately - can't remember if it one or more paws that she licks.
Anyway, just FYI.

Good morning Eileen and everyone....

I had a wonderful and fun filled weekend!!

Saturday afternoon Dwayne and I went to a Wild Game Feed with some friends. That was very interesting!!!
Later that evening we went to a surprise birthday party for a friend. There were so many high school friends there...we laughed and danced for hours!

Sunday we went to Dwayne's brothers house. His oldest brother and his family were here visiting from Oregon. Dwayne's whole family was there. We really had a good time. We all watched the Vikings lose...sniff...sniff!!
We went out for a couple drinks with friends after the get together. Got home early and crashed!!!!!

Today I am planning on a slower work day. I need the rest!! The sun is working on coming out....hope it does so the temps go up!

What is everyone doing for Halloween??? Anything special??  I am going to a Halloween Party...maybe two....dressing up of course!!

Halloween is also my daughter Jamie's birthday. Wow have those years flown by!  She said the best gift is Nic not having appointments out of state for three months!!!
