What's new Wednesday?

Hello my OFF family:

Here I sit at work, waiting for something to do for the final half hour of work. So I thought I'd start the thread.

So Carla, everyone wants to know, did you get a callback on the job? I saw your post on Facebook earlier.

My brother posted on FB that Tuesday was the first day of his unemployment and he started it as a "slug" ... he slept late ... til 9 a.m. Why not? What's he got to get up earlier for? He was getting up at 4 a.m. ... might as well rest up. Being unemployed is hard work!

I have an open enrollment meeting today so I'll be going into work at 3 p.m. and leaving earlier because I'll get my stuff done earlier. I have to talk with my boss about something I saw on the schedule. I'm a little confused.

Well, that's all for now. Post away.

Good morning.  Normally you start the thread on Thursday (while waiting for your bank deposit), so I had to check my calendar.

Things are going okay here.  Mary is doing a lot better, but tonight she was playing with Pride and when she got up from laying on the floor, he snapped at her.  He is really missing Flyte, actions like that are unusual for him.

I received our notification for open enrollment in the mail today.  I have some decisions to make.  I am thinking of dropping dental insurance this year, the reinstate it next year.  Mary has full dentures and I have partials (5 real teeth in my mouth).  Next year Mary will probably get new dentures, so I will reinstate it for that.  Then I have to decide how much FSA to get.  I don't think we would use the max ($3500) like we did this year.  This year we used it up in June.  I think I will get $2400.  I figure on about $1500 for prescriptions and Prilosec.  I also have to think about vision.  We both wear reading glasses right now.  Don't know when it will get worse.  Then, they also have two different program choices, one with $1000 deductible for family, the other with $2000.  We are hopefully to a point where we will be okay, so I think I will save the $55 per month difference.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

catch a falling star and put it in your pocket....

good morning!!!! i got up  in time to actually see a falling star in my yard!!!! the halley's comet meteor shower was this past nite and i knew i could only see so much with lights around here- we have two street lights on our block...but the sky is awesome!! and a star fell  in front of me-took my breath away-it was a "thank you, God" moment!!! as i hugged myself in jammies and a sweatshirt (should have had on my coat too!) i thought how perfect the sky would have been at nan and marc's ...they are secluded enough -and have an expanse of sky!!-to have the beauty shine!!!

ah well...
work went well enough -we drove to maumee and picked up a beautiful bird cage and two parakeets- the (4)****atiels love the cage- the(2) keets are trying to figure out what happened! new home and new cage!stopped at meijers for a few things and made it home by about 6--i crashed after dinner...

found another tail light assembly and placed the order- we'll see!

today is just work and pick up a few scrips for michael at wally's after work...
hugs and prayers........

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

good morning everyone

not much new here, mom is still not doing so well.  my sister and I are really
down in the dumps.  they moved her out of the hospital and into the nursing
facility at assisted living.

she is still very weak, cant walk, and her mind while clear at times, is very
confused at other moments.  it is so hard seeing her this way.

yesterday she pulled out her PIC line ( thats where they inject the IV meds),
so will have to make a short trip back to hospital to have it put back.  she said
it was "bothering " her.  that is so so so unlike mom.  old age is sad some days
for sure.

other than that, just trying to go to work, and stay current with my day to day stuff,
but right now its not easy.  i need to cry, but so far it hasnt happened.

anyway, hugs to all in need, i am trying to read the posts when i can.

I am sorry to hear about the trouble with your mom.  It must be so hard on you and your sister.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  I can't imagine and don't want to.  My parents are still go getters and I don't know what I will do when it does.  My heart goes out to you.

Jacki,

I know how difficult this is for you.  I went through this with both of my parents.  Watching your elderly parents grow weak and fail is very difficult.  Special hugs to  you during this difficult time!
