We live in Texas, so we got the Tennessee Titans (formerly Houston Oilers) "game" against the Patriots.  45-0 at half, so they switched to the Jets game.  There went my plans for a nap.  And then... yuck.

Spend the weekend in Myrtle Beach shopping with a friend.  It was cold.  Well, cold for here.  I lived in PA and remember what cold really is.  I suppose it was in the 50s and low 60s.  Got some nice stuff and had a very good time.
Today I went to the gym and I am now at work.  Kids are back on track and I start my part time job tomorrow evening.  I decided that I want my arms done and maybe some other stuff.  so I am getting a part time job to save for it.  I have more wants than money so this seems to be the solution.  I hope I don't hate it.
George, I am sorry to hear about your pet passing.   It is a hard thing to cope with.  We lost our beloved Lucy dog years ago and she is still missed.   We have a cat named Kate but it is just not the same.  Prayers go out for all those in need.  Take care.

Good morning everyone!

Sounds like everyone is up and at em this morning.  My husband took me to bingo last night at a church near us.  It is his second time going and we have not been to bingo in over 25 years.  So it was a new expierence for us.   Well he is terrible to sit next to.  He sighs and groans through all the games.  Wishing he was closer, or his cards are terrible.  I finally told him to shut up or stop playing.lol.    I told him I want to go again, and he can take me minus the grumbles.   It is expensive to play so we won't be going very often.  Maybe once a month or so.  I enjoyed getting out and doing something.  We really don't do that much.

It was sunny here yesterday but still cold.  I laid down in the afternoon yesterday I just couldn't warm up.  Under the covers I finally did.  So there I was for about an hour.   Of course if I lay down so does one of my labs.  He kept me warm too.

Well prayers to those that need them, which is all of us really.

Bingo around here has gotten too fast paced.  Some of the places have gone to computers.  I am not much of a Bingo fan, but when my wife wants to go, I will go.  The last time was probably 20 years ago.  We would rather save up and go to Vegas once every two years.  We are probably going in March.

Hi George and my OFF family:

I am up early this morning ... have an appointment at the pain doc's for my back injection, and boy, do I need it. Just waiting for Mary Kay to pick me up. She got stuck in traffic on U.S. 131 (always a problem) so she's taking the back roads to my house. She lives in Rockford, MI, on the north side of Grand Rapids, and I'm on the western edge of the city. But she's lived here all her life and knows all the back roads.

Thanks to everyone for all your kind words about my Aunt Bernice. As I was drifting off to sleep last night, I saw a vision of her, my dad and my grandpa sitting around an old kitchen table, having a beer together (grandma and Uncle Bum ... my Uncle Jay who drank too much and stole from grandma and my dad, but she loved him anyway ... they weren't there) ... anyway, it was a sweet vision and I hope it was true. And there was that sweet parakeet, Pretty Boy, sitting on Grandpa Briesch's shoulder, drinking out of his beer and turning the pages of his newspaper, just as I remembered. And dad with our dog, Lady, and Aunt Bernice with her sweet little dog ... whose name escapes me, I want to say it's Daisy, but I'm not sure. Aunt Bernice was a sucker for stray animals, too ... she was feeding a stray cat for years on her porch when she still lived at home in Schiller Park, IL, before she went into the nursing home. That cat loved her.

Anyway, I can't go to the funeral ... they're not having a wake, because my cousin hates wakes and it wasn't in Aunt Bernice's wishes to have a wake. It's just a funeral on Friday, and I have to work Friday night and Saturday night. My mom understands. I know this is going to be tough on her. She said the moment she and Aunt Bernice met, when mom started going out with dad, they became great friends, closers than sisters. Since Aunt Bernice didn't have a sister, that must have been special to her. They fought a lot ... not nasty or anything, just fun fighting. I always liked that Aunt Bernice stood up for me to my mom. Like once when I was in South Dakota and wanted to join the Y and didn't have the money for the initiation fee ... my mom was on me about my weight, and Aunt Bernice cajoled my mom into giving me the money so I could join. And she was so proud of me after I lost my weight. She was always telling me what a skinny butt I had.

Well, my ride's here. Got to go.

Good morning George and OFF family members,

I had a family dinner last night with all of the kids and my granddaughter.  Made a ham in my crock pot..don't know why I never used it much before but I do LOVE my crock pot now.
Today is a slow day for me..although I do have to visit with my surgeon's PA.  I think the incision in my belly button is infected.  So I'll just mosey on up to Ithaca and let them take care of it.  Then I'll hang out till its time for my support group meeting.
Tomorrow I'm visiting with my mom.  She'll be 80 in January..she and I are going to be baking some WL friendly pumpkin bread.  I love her pumpkin bread, but the sugar would kill me.  So we're making it my way.
Its cold here, but sunny.  Supposed to actually make it into the 60's later this week.  How weird is this weather???  Cold and snowy and now back to Indian Summer???  Well thats NY for you.  WEIRD!!!
I hope everyone has a great Monday.  Keep smiling

We love our crock pot.  Most of my cooking is done in this one frying pan I bought at the fair last year, but what isn't done in there or the microwave, is done in the crock pot.
