OT: More on Aunt Bernice, the circle of life

Very strange indeed. Remember how I was quoting the song, "And when I Die," which goes, "And when I die, and when I'm dead, dead and gone, there'll be one child born and the world to carry on."

Well, it's very true. I got this e-mail from my cousin Patty, Aunt Bernice's daughter:

Emma Joan was born last evening (less than 30 hours after Mom passed) – 6 lbs. 12.5 oz, 12.5" – Stephanie, Jeffrey and Emma are doing fine.

Emma Joan would be Aunt Bernice's great-granddaughter. Freaky, isn't it? Like they passed along the way. Jeffrey is Patty's son and lived next door to Aunt Bernice until she went into the nursing home.

Life is funny, isn't it? If one believed in reincarnation, you could almost wondered if the soul of Aunt Bernice went into that new baby. (Cue the "Twilight Zone" music now.)

Well now...you all will have to see if Emma Joan has an "old soul"...maybe Aunt Bernice is still hanging around!

...or just I like to say...The Circle of Life continues. God Bless Emma Joan and Aunt Bernice. I love babies!

Eileen, I am a firm believer in when one passes a baby is born...

It will be interesting to see if there is a bit of Aunt Bernice in her...let us know when she gets older. I don't think it her reincarnated but I wonder if Aunt Bernice passed to make room for Emma Joan.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

my eldest son was born at almost the same time of day( on the same day)  that my birth dad's  dad was dying....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Made it back from Chicago safely.  Had a great time.
My sister got pregnant, my uncle walter died, she got pregnant again and my Dad died, I got pregnant and my aunt myrtle died (the three youngest of my Dad's family).  They were making room for a new generation.
Sorry to hear about Aunt Bernice, but luckily she lived a long life.
