Well, we have white stuff falling from the sky.  Very pretty but I gotta go out in that stuff today.  Errands, pay bills and practice my song for the fashion show.  May go to knitting club too.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Morning Millie, OFF Family!

Another gray rainy day here along the Northeast/mid-Atlantic region, but thankfully warmer weather is right behind this, so at least it won't stay raw like it has been the last couple of days!

Yup, Long term health care insurance is what it all eventually comes down to (lol), not really funny on a certain level, but the realities of how quickly life winds up on the side where you need to make plans for the possiblity of needing such things is what I am laughing at, can someone tell me where the last 20 or so years went?  Oh I know, I wished every Monday through Friday away for most of 'em (lol).

I sure do hope we hear back from Olivia (Linda's daughter), Linda is definitely on my prayers list. . .

Well last night I stayed up really late and played Bejewled Blitz, bound and determined to get a decent score before I went to bed (lol).  I don't get to play much during the week and it's almost a rebellious thing to be able to stay up really late (lol), though Dillinger does not care that I was up late, he wants me to give him his petting time on his schedule, however, this morning he was funny, think he figured he would cut me some slack, so when he heard my housemate was up, he actually opened the door to my bedroom his self, now mind you it is a pocket door, but it was only open the bare minimum and he pushed it open with his face so he could play up Diane for some petting time and when she was done and tried to get him to go outside, he came back into my room, jumped up on the bed and barked as if to say, you think I'm going out in that slop (very rainy here)?  As you are all familiar, I'm a little bit batz over my dog, but he really does have the personality that communicates in such a way as we know by his body language what he is saying to us and it is so funny.  Well then it was my turn to give him petting time after which he finally went out and then came back in to be toweled off, which is another funny thing, he comes in from the rain and poses and looks at you, like come on, dry me off and do it in a hurry, and then givet me a treat for my troubles. . .  ahh the life of a well loved 4-legged furface friend. . .

Well folks, I am looking forward to dancing at one of my WLS support group gals wedding in the dress I mentioned in my post yesterday!  I will be bringing a camera, so I'll have someone take pictures of me in it, along with my new hairdo. . .

You all have a safe and good day and if it's gray where you are, remember the old line about every cloud having it's silver lining, maybe that will make this day better for you.

Hugs, Laureen

Good morning all.  I am at work right now, already looking forward to 1PM so I can go home and take a nap.  Went to bed at 2:30ish and got up at 7.  That is the one bad thing about this part time job, working Saturday mornings during my normal sleep time.  Will take a nap this afternoon.

Texas-OU or OU-Texas game is today.  Will be listening to it, as there is not much I want to watch on my cell phone TV on Saturday mornings.

After my nap I will watch some more of my DVR'd shows.  Knocked out a bunch last night.  CSI Miami, CSI NY, Gary Unmarried, Criminal Minds, and a couple of others.   Today I will try to knock out about 7 or 8 hours of DVR action.

Later.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

So are you a Texas fan or a Texas A&M fan? I understand you can only be one or the other (or you can be a Texas Tech fan ... if you live in Lubbock, like my friends Bruce and Rita ... Bruce is the one who has Hodgkins who's dying). My nephew went to Texas for his masters in accounting and is a big Texas fan ... his wife to Texas A&M, so there's a clash there ... they go bonkers in college football season (especially Chris ... they live in the Denver area now, though).

I have 50 percent full on my DVR ... need to knock off quite a bit today to catch up. I am hooked on Mercy, FlashForward, The Good Wife, Eastwick of the news shows.

Actually I am an Oklahoma fan.  The only time I cheer for Texas is when they play A&M... and that is because my wife's 2 cousins graduated A&M and talk too much trash.

Hi MIllie and my OFF family:

It's up to 50 degrees today and the sun is out ... looks like a pleasant autumn day but I have been feeling crappy lately. My tummy was bothering me most of yesterday and that has continued today. Don't think I'm going out at all today or tomorrow. Don't know if it's a stomach bug or IBS. I'm betting on a stomach bug ... it's actually the trots now. I've been running to the bathroom regularly and it's not feeling good. Yesterday it wasn't this bad so I could chalk it up to IBS. I went to work with it and although I didn't feel all that good, I was OK. Today, I feel a lot worse.

So obviously, I have no big plans. I'm going to sit at home in my pajamas, catch up on my DVR'd shows, watch baseball tonight, read and rest up. I have three days off, with Monday my day to get my back injection (and I really need it).

We have our insurance enrollment meetings next week. I'm going in early to work on Wednesday to attend. They don't make it easy for the night crew to attend these meetings ... the latest one is at 3 p.m. So I'll go to that one and then just start work early (which means I'll miss out on my night shift pay, but I'll get out of work early). Last year I signed up the long-term disabilty policy, figuring that I might need that sometime in the future (if I ever have to file for disability, at least I'd have a backup pay plan ... because you have to be out of work for five months before you can file for disability). This year, I might consider the long-term care insurance. I have no one to care for me ... no kids, just my niece or nephew when I get older. So maybe I'll see what that will cost me. I couldn't afford it last year ... really probably can't afford it this year with our premiums going up, but at least I'll be out of bankruptcy next year (hopefully!).

Well, I think I'm going to make some peppermint tea and see if that will settle my tummy down. The coffee and the protein drink definitely weren't a good idea. I really don't feel good at all.

Have a good day.

 Eileen,

I've been dealing with an insurance agent lately for long term care for my mom.  I also decided to get a policy on myself since watching my sister go through what she has.  In a blink of an eye we can become so dependent on someone else to care for us.  I should write a thread about my past year with her.  I don't want my kids to go through what her kids have.

I'm so conscience of my health now, even more so than before surgery.  I've begun a walking routine and when I can't walk I want to get started in weight training.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi all,
WOW the weather cooled off here.  We dropped from over 90's to the 70's....I think it hit the 50's first thing this morning.  It will be short lived tho.....the heat should be back on Monday.

Got lots of chores done today but feel made no progress on the unpacking.  MAN I'm getting tired of this same old song.

Going to take a coffee break..........
