Great news, how exciting.   I used to do hair and had my own beauty shop.  I was too young to appreciate what I had going and gave it up.  The only hair I do now is my husbands, kids and dogs..lol

Good luck and the main thing is have fun.  Great news about the credits.

My son has never had anyone else cut his hair, and Gary says even though he doesn't pay for his haircuts, the tips kill him....LOL

Congratulations Susan..!!  Sounds like fun...especially if you're getting paid.

You know, Julia, probably not. I lost many opportunities throughout my career where I was told I didn't "fit their image", or I "wasn't what they were looking for".  I even had a school owner tell me he wouldn't hire me as an instructor unless I promised not to wear white uniform pants (that really dates me, doesn't it?) because my "butt was big enough to show a movie on it".

Of course, times change and I could have sued him for that now, but it's an industry that's all about image.
They type of styling I'll be doing for the shoot isn't any different, or takes any better skills than I had 5 years ago, but I'm the one that looks different now.

That's what I suspected... the butt comment was terrible. We all know the prejudice that's out there. I bet we all have stories.
