Iron?
Last time I saw my doc she said I was low on Iron. She recommended geritol. Or that is what the pharmacist gave me from what the doc wrote. I found an iron pill at GNC it has 65 mg. Do you think that is ok?
Thanks

Remember to take a vitamin C with your iron, and take your calcium at some other time to assure the best environment for absorption. What's wrong with the Geritol? Just call you doctors office and leave a message with her nurse and ask her if it is OK. They should call you back that same day.
Hi!
Thanks for answering so quickly. Geritol tastes terrible. I can not get myself to drink it anymore. I try.
No I didn't know about the vitamin C. Thanks again

If the iron is ferrous sulfate, you're kinda wasting your time.
I don't care much for any of the ferrous forms myself.
But when you do find the right iron, it's taken with vit C, alone together for one hour. You can take it with fruit, veggie or meat, but not with caffeine, dairy, egg, whole grain, other vites, minerals or meds.

P.S. My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
Yes, most have no issues at all. But our formulas are similar.
If you are prone, use magnesium oxide. 1-2-3-4 pills per day. Taken with calcium. Start with one, adjust.
You can't go without iron.

Thanks. I've looked at Magnesium but was confused by all the different kinds. I haven't been prone for these problems pre-op, I started taking the BA iron at the start of my 2 weeks of liquids without any problems. So I'm not totally sure it it's the iron or not enough water. I'll get some Mag Oxide and try it and work on my fluids, too.
