TGIF, It's Friday, What's New?
Good morning Eileen and everyone....
All is good with my daughter Carrie....the surgeon had all good things to say. Thanks for the prayers everyone.
I spoke with my grandson Nic last night. He is so bummed out about having to go back to Memphis/St Jude's again on Monday. He is fed up with it all. Nic just wants to go to school and have fun like all the rest of his friends. I can't say I blame him for feeling like that.
We are supposed to get snow tomorrow morning....I hope they are wrong!! It is soooo cold...I can't warm up.
It sounds like there are plenty of people here that need prayers....you can count on me!
There still are a lot of people not accounted for on this board...hope they are just busy and that nothing is wrong.
I best get back to work. Have a great day everyone!!
Love and hugs to all......connie d

Hi Everyone,
I am going to go chum around with a friend this morning. Her husband is in the Cleveland clinc waiting a lung transplant. I thought I would get her out of the house and do some thrift shopping. We could all use something. My husband needs flannel shirts for work. I hope they have some.
The weather here in Ohio is rainy and gloomy. Cold too. I do not like this weather at all. I hope we don't go right from summer to winter. Where is fall this year? No indian summer here.
Put a chicken in the slow cooker so I can cook while I am gone. Love those slow cookers. Don't know what I would do without one. They are cheaper to cook in, do you realize that? I think they are anyway.
Sorry to hear that some have sick relatives. I hope they get better soon. It is always a stressful time. My prayers to all of you.
Well, I better put some makeup on and do my hair or I will be late!

I hate to be a spoiler but, we are having wonderful fall weather here in the Seattle area. It is really nice out. Cool mornings and warm, not hot, days. The leaves are really turning brilliant colors and falling.
I do have my winter clothes hung in the closet... I know its coming... lol
I'm taking advantage of the quiet time while Mom is at my sister's to clean and get ready for winter. I want to get the carpets cleaned before the rain comes......
Hopefully, I'll get to take my grandson to the pumpkin farm this weekend. He loves it there. It is the same farm we get our berries and fruits & veggies from.
Quite a few festivals are going on and its fun to go to them. I'm especially interested in the handcraft ones. I usually find a few fun items for the holidays.
Have a wonderful, fun, funny day

Aloha Eileen and OFF family,
It's 9:00 a.m. in Hawaii so 3:00 in the afternoon for those of you on the east coast! I feel like I'm totally out of synch with all of you because I'm at least three hours earlier than my west coast friends, and even more as we move across the country.
So many are having parent problems and I feel for you so much. That has to be hard to watch a parent or close family member change personalities or to be in pain. I guess I feel rather lucky that both my parents went quickly without any long illness or lessening of mental facilities. I missed seeing my mom by two hours as I was on Maui when she got sick and I couldn't get a flight home soon enough to say good bye t0 her. That felt awful, but over time I found myself grateful that she had slipped quickly away without pain, anxiety or months of suffering.
My life has been busy lately....which is good. Last Tues. night I went to a support group which is led by a friend of mine who had surgery about a year before I did. She has gone through so mu*****luding losing her husband about a year ago. She is down to 102 lbs......and I can SEE now what I think others have seen in me........very thin woman, and wearing jeans made her little legs look like toothpicks. She KNOWS she is too thin (like me), and can't seem to put weight back on.....just keeps losing.
Her group was great! There were about 14 of us, and most of them were BIG PEOPLE waiting for our surgery. One woman looked at my friend and me and said out loud "I don't want to lose TOO MUCH WEIGHT." In other words, skinny is not attractive! Seeing all those large people really brought back memories of ME being just their size or more. When I told them I used to weigh 320 lbs....they gasped and said "no way!" I left there not knowing if I helped anyone or made them afraid they were going to become a bag of bones! Ha!
It's Friday morning and they are doing the yardwork around here...so it's noisy and it still smells of roof tar as they are coming to the end of the reroofing project. It's a gorgeous day, however, and the ocean is smooth as silk because there is no wind.....and thus it's rather muggy and warm on the humid side.....don't like humidity and we rarely have it.........so I can't complain.
I hope you all have something wonderful happen to you today....and come and share it with us tomorrowl

we have had so much rain , we had 7 inches here at our house and now the temps are down to 42 suppose to get down in the 30s here tonight it has been a weird year for sure....
good thing we live up on top of a bluff above the lake here , ...all of the low lying roads and bridges have water running over them.....
there was to be a big national race of bikes over the weekend and this whole area is totally swamped with rvs and tent etc every year...100s and 100s all along the James River is where they all camp....
they had to pull a lot of them out with wreckers and hellacopters etc major rescue i think.....silly people were even warned that it was coming , it wasnt like a pop up storm...i guess they have never been in one of the ozarks thunderstorms and what can happen....
anyway most people are ok...but it sure is a mess....

Central NY-cold and rainy.
Still unemployed, but I have to look for a job to find one I guess. I have done some computer searches but have not been a go getter to get a job yet. Normally I would be pounding the pavement to find a job. But my husband and I are both home and we are just enjoying a slower pace for a little while. Unemployment is spoiling me. Who would have thought we could live on so little!
I hope you all have a good weekend.
