Happy Thrusday - It's Almost Friday!
Good Morning from the WSFS Building in Wilmington, DE where I am still hard at work on this bankruptcy case that will finally file tomorrow (correction, it is tomorrow(lol)), woo hoo! Waiting on edits. I won't get home until Thursday is over, brought my clothes, toothbrush, toiletries, sleeping bag and pillow, where I will sack out for a couple of hours in an office here. The good life of being employed in a corporate bankruptcy firm (lol), it's a job and I will say we have a good team for this job. We are laughing and making jokes, guess we are just plain delerious.
Well Gals & Guys of OFF, talk among yourselves, I'm sure you will all share a good part of what is going on in your lives and it's great hearing about it all! For those going through tough life situations, try to remember that this too shall pass and in the meantime, there are a whole bunch of us, pulling for you through prayers, positive thoughts and whatever we think might be of help!
Hugs, Laureen

Hi Laureen and my OFF family:
Well, Friday's still a day off. And for me, my Friday is Saturday because I have to work Saturday. But that's what I get for getting Monday off. And then I only have Sunday off because then I have a Monday-Friday schedule for one week ... then back to Tuesday-Saturday for two weeks. I wish I was back on the regular schedule again. I hate this skipping around. But like you said, it's a job.
I had to help out in sports tonight. I don't mind doing something for them, but since I don't do their pages regularly, I don't know all their style (a little different from the news desk) and so I end up putting extra time into doing things because they don't tell me exactly what they want. Which ****** me off. If they were doing a news page or the business pages, I'd give them explicate instructions on what to do and how to do it; I wouldn't just let them do the page and then make them redo it after they forgot something.
We had lots of photos of storm damage from last night: trees falling on houses were really quite stunning. And the waves crashing onto the piers along Lake Michigan showed the ferocity of nature. It's not so bad tonight, just chilly.
Well, I was hoping to find money in my bank account, but the payroll deposit is not there yet. Maybe later this morning. I'm tired, I'm going to bed.
I'll check in later. Don't work too hard, Laureen. I haven't pulled an all-nighter since college.

Yes, it's mlive.com/grpress. Right now in Grand Rapids, we have this thing called ArtPrize. It's a public art exhibition ... a lot of the stuff is right out on the streets. It's really pretty cool. The winner is voted on by the people. There's this one piece called Nessie that is a "monster" put in the Grand River. So cool. And a giant table and chairs on a pedestrian bridge called "The Furniture City sets the Table for the World" ... Grand River used to make a lot of furniture, but now it makes mostly office furniture (Steelcase, etc.). So check out ArtPrize if nothing else. The photos are so cool.
Good morning all. Yesterday was a wonderful day.
Spent about 6 1/2 hours at the State Fair of Texas. Had a great time. Mary and I went and we had invited one of my co-workers from the part time job.
We got down there at 9:30, but the exhibits don't open until 10. Got a great parking spot. We had not eaten, so we bought $20 in food coupons. Went and got a quesadilla, which Mary and I split. It was 13 coupons or $6.50, but being a Fair, you don't look at the $$ cost.
After that we went to find the frying pan Mary wanted. Very expensive, but very good. We got the pan for $120. Paid cash so got a discount equal to sales tax. He tried to sell us a set that included the pan for $499, but we already have most of the pans that were in that set. Not all, but most.
Then we went and found the belts we wanted. We had them custom made, matching. Mine says Grandpa and hers says Grandma. We also have the names of all the grandkids on the belt. We also got Grandma and Grandpa tee shirts. I got green, Mary got burgundy.
We went through a couple of exhibit halls and got to taste some food. Quesodillas, beef with a BBQ sauce that was pretty good. Good enough that we bought 3 bottles for $10.
Tried out a massage chair that was awesome. But $2900 is out of my league. Also looked at a mattress topper that I may have to save up for. It has dual controls for the two sides of the bed. You can set the temperature for as low as 46 degrees or as high as 118. They say it saves on electricity because you don't have to run your a/c or heat as high/low as normal. Sounds right to me. Don't know how long it would take to save that much money ($600) but it is interesting.
Found sugarfree fudge, as usual. Got Mary a peanut butter fudge, then also got a chocolate (no nut) and a vanilla for us to share. She will get 1/4 of each of the last two. We do this every year, when you finish your fudge, you are done. You leave the other person's alone.
Guess I have bored you enough, but the day finished with Mary and I watching TV together before I went to work at 2AM.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
George,
Tom gave me an electric mattress pad - only heat because I do not need any cold
. Although we have a king bed, the mattress cover is a twin and he generates enough heat already. I used that and my electric blanket all Summer long. Snuggy and warm.
He got it at Bed Bath and Beyond for under $100.00. Fabulous.
I don't know if it has saved any money but it kept us in the same bed.

Wow George,
Not boring at all, matter of a fact, I don't think I've ever been to a fair, so it sounds like you did a lot and had a great time!
Have a great day!

It wasn't boring at all. I remembered having a lovely time with the sistahs at the Texas State Fair two years ago, zipping around in the scooter. I even bought a Big Tex bobblehead. I tried out the massage chair too ... too pricey for my tastes, but it was nice.
I'm not big on fairs because I just don't like big crowds, but I had a good time there. Maybe it was the company.
