please list you proud moments that do not include food

I know I am asking people to think off topic, but once in a while it is healthy to remember we have other interests.
My most recent proud moment was setting up my new Wii game system and figuring out the games all by myself. I set up the wiring and stuff by myself. As I live with a network administrator and my son works with the government doing network set ups I felt very insecure and that if I goofed it up they would treat me as if I was a fool for even trying. So, I made up my mind to do it, followed the directions and did it all by myself without having to ask any questions.It worked the first time I turned it on. 
In fact it was very simple and I had nothing to be afraid of, but because of the 'experts' around me, I feel inadequate.

What have you done that you did not think you could do. It can involve food , will power the first time you walked into a gym if you want, but it would be nice to have something off topic.

Gosh,  doesn't look like many of us have proud moments...

I do have to chuckle at your post.  I have had a new cell phone for over a year and have not been able to get through all the menu of menus.  I still have to look up the tele #... some on paper.  I still have not figured out the new system for HD tv,  the universal remote is just sitting there to be used.  I have a picture printer that is 1 1/2yr old and never used...    I just don't know why I don't learn them.   I am literate.... lol  I think.

One little strange thing that I'm proud of is.... I can still get up and down from the floor without holding onto something. 

I am proud that i can sew and make garments that don't have the homemade look to them.

There are several WOW moments in my life since surgery;  big and little ones.

I teach school and travel for my job.  I am in 4 to 5 different building every day.
  My proud moment...we had 2 fire drills the other day within a 10 min. period.  I was in a class on the 2nd floor.  I went down the stairs and then up, down and then up again..and never got winded.

  That was incredible..and surprising to me!!!

My proud moment lately happened yesterday.  The cable guy was here, but the cable company had processed his work order incorrectly.  He was to set up internet and a TV for cable in the garage, cable in the bedroom and cable with a cable box in the living room.  He only had an order for the garage.  On top of that I had to give him a check for $110 COD.  I couldn't really not give him the money, cuz it wasn't his fault.  So I called, was very firm, and got them to do the install for free, the box for free, and to come back out Thursday to complete the job.  I was nice on my end of the phone, but firm.  I'm usually very easy to walk over, but I think as I age I'm getting more confident.  It felt really good.  Now we'll see if they adjust my bill for the $110.  I kept the gal's name that I talked to, and even talked to her supervisor and told her how pleased I was with the way Helia had handled my complaint.  Now, I hope things pan out as I hope.
I too am still amazed that I can get up off the floor without crawling over to something for help.

Since my RNY is so new, I'm so proud of myself for having the courage to undergo surgery, for following the rules, and for my success thus far.  It's a huge accomplishment for me having gotten rid of 34 pounds.  Each day I look forward to feeling better and better, and I'm so thankful and proud I had the determination to go through with it.  YAY!

Hi, my proud moments are going to Walt Disney world in Florida. I walked about 5-10 miles a day and I had energy left over. I could n't have done it at 260. I was also very proud when I spoke at a small lap band conference. I rubbed elbows with the pioneers of the lapband. It was wonderful. Mona

Proud moment was just this week. Organized a cruise for next month working with Chris at Cruise Connections, making decisions and going for it!!
My hubby has really never traveled so he will be out of his comfort zone. I will have to take the lead in this trip, making sure we are at the airport and in the right line.

Another proud moment was today. Rebecca our Bariatric RN Director has asked me to help plan our bariatric reunion get together....now I gotta think of something exciting for this event.

One of my proudest moments was about a year and a half ago. My son, a music composition/theory major had composed a piece for the UALR wind ensemble to perform. I was playing with the group at the time(clarinet), so I was able to play a piece my son composed. I could hardly read the music I was so teary. The conductor said he had never heard of this happening before.

It was very cool.
