My three year surgiversary

Hello everyone,.  Can I share my good news with all of you?

Yesterday was my three year surgiversary.  I've lost 120 pounds - that was 100% of my EBW - (it took me 16 months to lose all that I wanted) and I've kept it off!  Hooray! This surgery has been a true miracle and blessing.  I was fortunate to have no complications and no real problems.  I had one excruciating three-month stall, but otherwise my weight loss happened much the same as we all came to expect.  Some weeks I lost a lot, some not so much, sometimes none at all.

My Vitamin D is low, and I am supplementing it pretty hard. Otherwise, my labs are good.

Plastic surgery is next, but I'm still debating about how much to do.  As I wait, some things have tightened up but the bat wings definitely have to GO!

It may seem odd, but I go to Weigh****chers every week.  I've spend so much time (and money) at WW over the years that I've gotten to know the instructors, the staff and the customers quite well - and I LIKE them.  I weigh in every week.  I'm a lifetime member, so it is free.  A lot of the behavior modification they teach seems to apply to me, but I don't follow their food plan (It would be too much food for me now)

Just had to document this important day somewhere!  Thanks for listening!

Congratulations and WOW!!!

You've done a great job on your journey. I think it's great that you go to WW. Whatever it takes for us to maintain is OK in my book!

Glad to see you back!

Susan

Thanks Susan.  It's good to be back.  I like it in here.  It's different than the other boards - There's no mean people here!

I really like WW.  Plus, it means I don't have to have a scale anymore.  It felt so good to give that thing AWAY!  I can tell my weight by how my jeans fit, anyway!

Evelyn,

Good for you. 3 years and doing well - what an acccomplishment. It doesn't seemm odd to attend WW. If it helps, just do it.

Big hugs

Thank you Annette!

And thanks for the note about WW.  I've been a member of WW on and off since I was 17 years old, so it's just old, comfortable, familiar territory.

They've approached me about being a leader.  There are enough post WLS folks around here struggling with maintenance that it might be an interesting experience for us all to learn from each other.

Go for it. You would be a good leader AND it is very rewarding.

Thank you -- But trust me!  There's lots of reasons you wouldn't want to be me!

However, I wish that everyone could have as smooth of a post WLS ride as I was blessed to have.  I know how lucky I am.

Thanks for the kind words.
