Water, Water, Water....(?)

I'm curious what your nutritionist has told you about drinking water & how much you have to drink.
I normally try to drink a minimum of 9 cups and used to get in 12 cups... but find it harder lately to reach the 9.
How much are you told to drink and are you allowed to count green tea as part of your water consumption?

Thanks for sharing!

Ruth,

The suggested guidelines are 64 oz. of decaffienated fluids, so if the green tea you are drinking has caffiene, then you need to up your water consumption by the amount of green tea you are consuming, 6 oz + 6 oz of extra water over the 64 oz we are supposed to consume.  Remember that fluids are not limited to water, but must be decaffienated, ie, sugar free jello would count as a fluid. . .  at least that's what I was told by my NUT.

Take care, I also posted something last week or week before on water consumption.  So scroll back and you should be able to find it, or click under my name (I think for my recent posts and you should be able to find it)

Hugs, Laureen

Hi Ruth,

My nut/doc say all fluids count towards your totals. Milk, diet green tea(my new fav), water, protein drinks, etc. all count in my book.

I get in at least 80 oz a day, usually around 100 total.

On another note, have you had a chat with your nut as to your slow weight loss?  I saw where you said 7 lbs in 6 wks? Is that right?  Yes, maybe a call is in store.

Hi Susan,
Thanks for sharing....
If I count everything....water, green tea, protein, etc,  I'm probably getting at least 120 oz.  I can live with that...

FYI - I reached goal some time ago.....I'm actually below goal now.    I don't have a nutritionists that's why I was curious what you guys have learned.  (I did not have WLS)  I've learned a lot from you all when you share what your "nuts" teach you.

Thanks so much for sharing!!

Ruth:

My nutritionist says it's not jus****er you consider but veggies and fruit that have a high water content ... like lettuce, melons, etc.
