Monday is Day Six with New Pouchy!

I'm doing really well!  Eating small, liquid mostly, meals, as prescribed by my nut.  Walking a little, resting a lot (thus some insomnia tonight!)  Feeling better each day.  Today was the best.  My youngest brother (the 50 year old!) is visiting from Atlanta.  He had an RNY 5 years ago - you don't think obesity runs in our family, do you?

Anyway, he has been full of good advice, ideas, help, and love.  Helping my healing!  My dear husband Michael and he get along well and I think their combined care of me is really spoiling me!  And my sister stopped by tonight.  It's been great seeing everyone and feeling good enough for it.  My sister claimed I shooed her out of the hospital when she visited, after I got my pain shot!  LOL

I really can't believe I'm already here, and ready to start the next, healthier, phase!  Thanks, all for the support.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY!  Working on the next 25.  Then I'll tackle more...

Good morning, Mary M:
Glad to hear you are doing well after surgery.  Napping is an important part of your recovery so go for it!  Your body has been thru some trauma and now it needs to recover, so the napping is a good thing, along with walking and sipping tha****er.

Wonderful support group around you -- that's great.  Hope you can find a bariatric support group nearby too -- it's always good to connect with folks who have been on this journey.

Have a good week ...

Good morning, Mary and congratulations!!!

Sounds like you have a wonderful support system there at home, and being spoiled right now is very nice!  You're so lucky to have someone in the family that's been down this road before.

Good luck, and hope to see you more often

Susan

Glad you are healing well and getting good support.

Yes, obesity does run in families. My sister was obese and lost her weight through Weigh****chers ... she has kept it off many, many years through diet and exercise (she doesn't let any junk food stay in her house and she's a high school coach and PE teacher, so she's always hopping); my brother Gary also has struggled with his weight and has dieted off and on with his ex and now that he's single, too. Neither of them was nearly as big as me, however, but that doesn't me they couldn't have gotten there.

Mary,

Glad to hear you are doing well and following the prescribed way to do things!  It's nice to have people in your family support what you are doing!

You will be thrilled as time goes by with the results of WLS, oh and just in case, be sure to take your measurements now and do so monthly from here on out, many times the weight falls off, but the scale does not tell us, so it's a good way to keep track!

Keep resting and doing what you need and you are sure to be one very happy loser!

Best wishes, Laureen
