What's New- Sunday, September 27, 2009
I don't have much to report on. The wedding we went to last week was fabulous. Beautiful and touching, my favorite kind of event. This weekend I'm playing catch-up on cleaning.
That's about it... nothing exciting... not that I'm complaining at all.... I love the calm days.
So what's up with YOU?
I spent the entire day in denial as I have over 100 essays to mark and about 30 sociology assignments. I haven't touched either pile - I am the queen of procrastination and will hate myself tomorrow (actually today) when I finally get down to business.
Had my hair cut and coloured today in a shop where the music is so loud and obnoxious that the atmosphere made me anxious. It's where I usually go, but I'm thinking that I'm getting a little old for this place and that I had better find another hairdresser (is that what I call her?) and move on. God, I must be getting old!
I found out today that my house was built by 1875 and that it might have been built as early as 1860. It is a very sound, well-built house that I love and I will have to start doing some research to get more information. I'm looking forward to it. I bought this house less than 2 years ago, so I don't know much about its history.
Well, to sleep, perchance to dream - hopefully about something calm so that I will get up in the morning ready to mark papers.
I hope that everyone is doing well. Prayers for those who need them - I know I do!

I saw that too...funny how these things seem to go in cycles. Ive just finished writng sentences for the video game for literacy..I'm seeing sentences now even when I close my eyes...time for bed.
When I get up, I intend to make chicken soup..it seems that our eldest, Danny, now has the same flu that his wife had....poor guy. The weather really cooled down this afternoon...it got dark and rained all afternoon and evening..slow but steady. The trees are starting to change colour now.
In the afternoon and in the evening, I am mentoring two LifePath groups of young ladies. But before that, I will drop in and see Mother for a while and take her some reading material and a treat, usually a "scratch and win" lottery ticket to play with and her favourite chocolate bar or a pot of flowers to enjoy. I've got some new dish cloths and dish towels for her too (not that she will USE them..they will be for my use when I visit her and clean her room) and they are already in a bag inside my InfoDIVA pink & black briefcase so I don't forget.
I picked some walnuts today...there's six huge trees...before the squirrels got them all...I just wanted a basket full for Christmas baking..they get all the rest.
Sending prayers, hugs, healing vibrations and any other alternatives to all who need them.

Today is my "down" day. Its my day to relax, catch my breath and literally psych myself up to start the school week again.
The laundry is done, the house is cleaned (except for the bathroom, that gets done this morning), the chickens in the crock pot and I'm just sitting here with my morning protein shake.
Tomorrow starts another busy week..Monday support group, Tues. blood work, Wed. morning meeting with parents, afternoon dr. appointment, Thurs. who knows and then Fri. again.
My granddaughter and all of my kids (3) will be here for dinner tonight...they have decided that maybe my way of eating isn't so gross after all...just healthy.
Not much else going on here in rural NY..except its rainy and chilly.
Hope everyone has a wonderfully restful Sunday...and a great week!!!
