What are you eating and what's eating you?-_SATURDAY!

Hello, family! Prayers, healing vibrations and swinging chickens (and a few hams too) for all who need them.

I don’t know about you but I always seem to struggle more with healthy eating on weekends. Weekends are out of kilter with the Monday to Friday routine for me and I suddenly feel like I’m in grave danger of losing control on Saturdays and Sundays. Especially if we are having company over or , worse yet, going out to someone’s house to eat. It seems that no matter how clear you try to get your special needs across, some just don’t understand or decide that’s too hard to deal with. I recall one summer barbeque when I slipped into someone’s kitchen to wash off all the fat, sugary gooey salad dressing off my lettuce leaves…and was caught doing so…it became a source of much laughter outside. These times are when our determination to "behave" become a challenge. It’s almost as if some seem to sabotague us on purpose. Could that be?

Morning again!

Sunflower seeds are going to kill me. They're great for snacking on, but the salt has me looking like a puffer fish...lol. So, those are off the list!  I gained a pound overnight from the dang things.  AGH. At least I know what did it.

Made another pot of homemade applesauce yesterday, so I'll have some of that on my cottage cheese this morning, maybe with a ww mini bagel.
Lunch, a Lean Cuisine quesadilla at work,
Dinner......your guess is as good as mine

snacks?  I've been rolling deli meat up with FF cream cheese. Make up about a dozen at a time and keep them in the fridge. They're ready to go whenever I need something. Usually just one or two satisfies me.

I love ham roll ups with a green onion in the center.  That sounds like a great idea.  I did go out and buy the turkey pepperoni, but haven't done the microwave thing with them yet.  I also bought some smoked turkey to munch on.  I'll try to stay away from the pork rinds, but they were so good........  I hadn't had them in such a long time....  I'll stay away.  I'm drinking my chocolate protein shake this morning and some cherry s/f drink mix.  After this I'm going to have a carbmaster yogurt.  Since I'm downstate, I can find them again.  I might just have to load up on them to take back north with me.  I also bought string cheese (light) to take on my road trip to PA.  I've only packed protein type snacks to take.  Love my beef jerky.  I'll probably live on salads and protein shakes while I'm traveling.  Lastnight I tried a pork chop, and after two bites it felt stuck.  I've not had that problem before with  pork.  I guess I'll just stick with less dense things for now.  I do love pork tho.

Nancy, I colored one of your mandelas on Thursday and it served as a meditative, mind clearing experience.  Thanks for sharing those last year.  Your lunch sounds absolutely fabulous.  I've been getting salt free sunflower seeds and they aren't bad.

The retirement thing is delayed again.  They have withdrawn their previous settlement offer and we are back to square one.  The main problem is that all the players (chiefs and board members) are new and the situation is complicated.  So no one really gets it, especially the attorneys, except me.
So their letters are rife with misstatements.  I spent most of yesterday refuting their latest attorney letter, trying to come from a loving, non-ego place and remain factual rather than emotional,  I'll review that today and email to my attorney on Monday so that his response will be as accurate as possible.

My housemate is moving into his own place today.  I'm happy for him but I need the rental income now.  Would like to spruce up the bathroom first with new fixtures and that permaceram tub refinishing so it matches the sink and toilet in color.  Would also like a new vanity with more storage but that will probably have to wait for now.  Another part of me says don't spend any more than necessary until the retirement money starts coming in. I am more fortunate than some to have a little money saved up, a roof over my head and food in the fridge.

Got in some live music and dance therapy with friends last night and today I need to fire up the weedeater and thrash around in that which serves as a lawn around here.

Food has been good lately and the scale is finally inching down again.

Today
B coffee/Kashi/SF yogurt
s string cheese
L last of the leftover beef stew
s apple
D pork chop sounds good to me with some vegies
s SF fudge pop

Have a healthy, happy weekend!  CV Linda
