Linda,

Food is an addiction for me.  And while I have a great deal of sympathy for alcoholics and drug addicts, I think food is an especially tough addiction to deal with because while you can totally give up alcohol and drugs, you cannot totally give up food and still survive.

My experiment with eating turkey breast yesterday did not work out well at all.  Even with sauce on it, it just would not go down.  I didn't get stuck in my stoma - it didn't even get that far.  I had to leave the table and made my husband put away the leftovers and clean up the kitchen.  So that's the end of the line as far as turkey breast goes.  I can eat shaved smoked turkey deli meat, but forget any other form of it.

B: coffee protein shake
S: iced skinny latte
L: egg salad, asparagus
S: cheese stick
D: country pork rib with mustard marinade, orange-avocado salad
S: SF pudding

Morning to you, sweet Linda. How is Sunday going for you? I pray that it works well and you have a most wonderful day. I am planning on doing the same.

I firmly believe that food is a addiction to me. I have to take the tiger out of the cage daily and I am so thankful that it isn't near as hard to get him back in when I am finished feeding him. I use to struggle so with that tiger and he wasn't nice at all. Now I think with the help of the wls I got him trained a bit but I have to admit one thing.......there is times that the old nasty tiger rears his very UGLY head and causes me trouble. My tiger is not Tony the Tiger by a long shot! He sometimes reverts to Tiger the Terrible........yes probably a long lost relative of Ivan the Terrible!

Food today is going to be what it is. I have a dinner at church today before a brain storming session. We are getting together as a church to voice where we want to go with services and groups and such. What does the church as a whole want to see us grow into. I hope it is successful. Our new Pastor suggested it. He is going to change things for sure and that is alright with me......we need something new! He is a breath of fresh air for us.

I have to get ready to toddle over to the hospital in the morning. I have to be there at 7 a.m. and surgery is set for 10:45. I am ready for it....but then again it is here so I better be. After all it is here!

I am sending you love and hugs and prayers are going up for you as you know they are all the time. Have a wonderful Sunday and stay safe. I just want to wrap you in bubble wrap and keep you safe.....but that is something that can't be done.....and I don't think you would like it anyway! If I lived closer I would come and take care of you. Love to you, dear sister!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Another good question Linda. It is a powerful ... something. Monster 2
My desk didn't get touched yesteray. Tom and I washed

windows and curtains instead. Those chores are much easier with his help. He doesn't need a step stool to reach. I tell him that I "need to use your TALL". One more benefit of having a long lanky fella around the house. Superhero
Grocery shopping will guide the food choices today. After breakfast, nothing sounds appealing.

Good Sunday afternoon Linda and everybody,,better late than never I guess!!

I agree,,food is an addiction for some of us! I know it is for me! I have noticed something wierd lately,,,some crazy habits that have become so ingrained I think they are becoming addictions. Like when I go to Walmart..in the checkout,,I get a craving for chocolate! (why not, its all right there in the impulse aisle, right?) I will more often than not give in and get a candy bar...my mouth literally waters!! Then, at the Dollar Store, I am always aware the whole time Im in there that this store sells those little  bags of candy for a dollar,,and they have those cocoanut clusters that I love. Again,,my mouth waters. Yesterday, I had a bag in my hand and thought about this thread and thought,,no way! Im not letting Linda and everybody, and myself most of all, down. I put em right back on the rack!!! WAS I PROUD??! Like an addict that refused a fix! You betcha! SO,,I am making headway!

Then this moorning while getting ready for church I tried on at least three skirts,,all just tight enough not to feel comfortable in em..and I thought,,for Petes sake,,its only about ten pounds worth! Lets get serious about this weight loss thing and just do it!

So, heres my menu for today,,,

B- 1 T Peanut Butter (as I went out the door!)
S- coffee
L- grilled chicken salad w ff dressing and 4 Ritz whole wheat crackers
S- slim fast low carb shake
D- not sure  yet,,,
s-popcorn ( I might as well admit it!!)

And Ill work some water in too.

Have a great day all!
Betsy

Betsy,I am so happy for you,I am not anwering much today, but I had to say that!!
You bet they put that candy  where we have to see it,and it stimulates something in our brain.
I know this took courage and character.
Popcorn is a good choice!
