Uh OH!! Poppa Tom was naughty and taught Miss Melanie a bad word. As he was putting her in the car seat he bumped against the other seat and said "darned thing went up my butt".

She went into a fit of giggles and asked him to say it again.

For the rest of the evening she kept slipping the word into the conversation along with more laughter. This angelic looking 3 year old sure learns quickly.

As soon as we returned home she ran to her Mom and announced "Poppa Tom said BUTT!!!".

Mary tried to ignore it. Didn't work. Poppa Tom almost ended up in the naughty chair.

Annette, this is another good M&M story. Poor Poppa Tom......he is certainly a naughty boy with others.

I have a feeling that Grandpa here is going to be in the naughty chair quite a bit.........and why not......he is most of the time with me anyway so why change something that Grandpa is so good at?

Top of the morning to you Jean and my other OFF sibs. It is a lovely day here in Portage, IN and I am going to enjoy every bit of it.

The sun is shining and the birds are chatting to each other again today. Tomorrow they are calling for rain (along with rain on Monday and Tuesday too, I believe) and cooler temperatures. By Monday the temps are going to be in the 50's.......I think I should boycott those kind of temperatures. Do you think that Mother Nature would change it for me.....probably not! Oh well, I shall take the wonderful weather for whenever Mother Nature wants to send it my way. I shall smile and say thank you.

Nothing new on the Baby Kayden home front. We are still waiting. Shawn called this morning and said that this boy is beginning to be a pain in his bee hind already. I told him that the fun is just beginning. He laughed and I hope that helped to lighten his frustration. Kayden is not wanting to appear and meet his family. Personally I think they will end up doing a C Section but I don't know. This stuff they are doing to help her now has a limit of 4 uses. This time when they do it will be the 3rd time. They are afraid to induce labor because they said that the cord would come out first and they are afraid that it would wrap around his neck and they would have to do a emergency C Section. I don't know what is going to happen.....but we sure could use everyone's prayers and good thoughts right about now. Carol is still only at 1 cm after all of this. I am getting worried and I don't have anyone to voice it to......I sure don't need others getting any more worried than they are already.

I guess I should get moving. I have some things I want to do before we head up to the hospital and see Shawn and Carol. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up for everyone too. Don't forget to smile and know that you are special.

Hi Jean and my OFF family:

It's 68 degrees here and 70 inside the house. I had to open the screen door even though I know that will be hell on my allergies. I already feel it in my nose. But the cats are sure loving it ... well, Scooter is ... Nettie retreated to the bed already.

It was so warm in here last night I had to strip the bed of the flannel sheets. I was going to do it today anyway, but I couldn't stand it, so I put on the cotton sheets. I need new sheets ... these are so old and faded, and they're kinda scratchy. Maybe I'll use my birthday money for a new set of sheets.

I was so tired after two days of getting up at 7 and hauling all that junk into the garage sale that I slept 10 hours today. I have no big plans for today, just have to run to Walgreens to pick up a prescription and PetsMart for some cat food and litter ... I'm out of food and the litter is running low. I really don't want to go out, but my steroid inhaler is out and with allergy season starting, I don't want to be caught without all my allergy meds. Plus, I'm still getting over this cold (it's not really bad). I may stop for lunch too, haven't decided. Then it's a day of baseball, baseball, baseball. I have to finish taking down the Easter decorations too.

Before I go out, I have to order some stuff online ... vitamins because we can't get our prenatals anymore and I want to get some from Vitalady that she recommended now that I have some extra money, and bras that I saw on sale (it's so hard to find my size in the stores because my cup size is so big) and maybe something extra from Amazon out of my birthday cash. So that's my day. Not much going on.

Nancy, your trip sounded like so much fun! How spontaneous! I would love to do something like that someday. My brother has a timeshare with a place in Myrtle Beach and we've talked about using it.

Well, have a good day.

It's storming here....thunder, rain and so dark and dreay...ut we need the rain. I've got a dozen do-rags waiting for me to finish them yet here I sit in front of the box! I really need to go to Walmart to pick up my diabetic meds, if they weren't only $4 I'd move the script to CVS. It's such a PITA to have to go into WM just for meds!

I had some good snugglin, too, this morning but it was from the fur children. Stormy weather always does it, neither wanted to get up and I sure hated to disturb them! After sewing last night until after 3am, it was easy to stay in bed. We finally got up a bit after noon!

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Afternoon, OFF'ers!!

Not much happening in this part of Texas.  One day looks like the next sometimes.

Was raining when I got up, turned to sprinkles, but cloudy and damp.  Just got back from Sprouts and a WalMart run.  Had a bowl of pinto beans, so glad I'm living alone.  Going to put a corned beef in the slow cooker for next week... and finish the beans and ham tomorrow.  Tonight is dinner at a neat little place.. called Chef Pointe Cafe.  Here's the story:  This man is a great chef and wanted to open a little gourmet restaurant in one of our middle-class areas (some around here are $500k-2m homes) and the Small Business Administration told him that the demographics wouldn't support a gourmet restaurant and refused him a loan...but they told him they would lend him money for a gas station... so he took them up on it, found a gas station on a busy corner, bought it, closed up the bay areas and opened a gas station complete with gourmet restaurant.  He sells gas... but has a great clientele of people who enjoy gourmet food.. it's first come, first served and no reservations... so there is always a line of people wanting to get in... I think it's great.. so that's where son and I are going for dinner tonight.

We have another little favorite haunt that not many people know about.. it's in a furniture store... and the food is great...

Do you have a little out-of-the-way place in your neck of the woods that has great food and is interesting?
