It is very natural to have those second thoughts, I believe you have made the right choice. Now,
everyone is different is how they think or want out of this. Your health & many years at a much smaller You is, I am sure what you are after. I know lots of folks that were in there 60's when having RNY surgery & did just fine. Don't worry about the phyc eval just be honest with your answers & you will be fine. They are after weather or not you are ready to make the changes in eating habits that come along with this surgery, IT IS NOT A CURE< JUST A TOOL for the weight
loss. You have to change along with it, for it to worlk. Your day will be here very shortly & you will
be on the losing side & enjoy the ride.  Welcome to our little ( kinda big now) family & you will get
lots of answers to whatever you might need along your ride.  I am only 55, but, still very happy I did this. One of my dear friends was 65 when she had her surgery & now in her 70's & weighs
in the 140's & much, much healthier. Best of Luck & Good wishes to you!!

Thank you Marilyn for taking the time to make such a thoughtful post.  What I am after is years to do things with my grandchildren.  They live in another state, and we are moving there when we retire.  I don't want to get there and be too physically challenged to do things with them.  The psych eval was hard, sensitive things were discussed that honestly I had put way behind me.  I am encouaged by your success, and the success of others in this forum.  This has been the most wonderful discovery.  Many thanks for your kindness and support,

What a delightful surprise Connie to find you in my posts for a second time today.  You bring a lot of light to the situations here, and I know we are all grateful for that.  A positive spirit is so vitally important in all that we do.  Thank you again, for the welcome, it is appreciated.

HI Cutepuppy,

I am not on this board much but decided today to come here and visit.    There are lots of us on the boards that are over 50.  I will be 56 this summer and I agree with what was said about it is NEVER too late nor is anyone too old to get WLS and improve their quality of life.    I for one will be praying for you when you have your surgery.   Good luck it is one amazing journey !!!

Hello Vivian,
You are a special lady!  I have read your thoughtful and insightful posts a number of times.  What a blessing to so many!!!  I so appreciate your taking the time to respond to my post.  It has meant a great deal to me to develop OH friends who have knowledge and wisdom to share, but mostly for the special bond between those of us challenged with "weighty" issues.  I do not say it lightly when I thank you for your prayers my surgery day.  But, for now, thank you for all you do for so many, and for me.
