(ricks friends brian and pam) they had some good eats too and most was WLS friendly!! ;) after that we went to the baseball game and had a good time and then i started to get cold even with the winter coat, gloves and blanket on me!! BRRRRRR so rick said we had to leave he didn't want me getting any colder or sick afterwards!!! i did catch a t-shirt they were throwing out to the crowd!!! wooohooooo!!!! bad thing is its a size XL and to big for me!!! LOL used to hate it because the XL was to SMALL!!!! HAHAHAHAA life IS good!!!!

friday night we went for the last perch dinner at the bar that we found a few weeks ago serving lake perch and it was so good. we lucked out and got the last of the perch!!! happy i got out of work early instead of 9 pm!!!

today is easter sunday and i miss my mom even more...used to go to church with her and made her happy. hopefully i will have enough money saved by june so i can go hpme to see her for her birthday!! she will be 88 years old and is feeling it more and more each day. she is having some health issues right now and also her back is really hurting her. i worry so much about her. it was always me doing things for her and now it seems like she is all alone even though she has my sister and 2 brothers there...she hates to ask them for help....i just did it without being asked to do it.

making a beef roast for our dinner today. potatoes and carrots with some onion in the same pot. bought some crusty rolls to go with it and also made an apple pie. just got it in the oven about 15 minutes ago and i am cooking it really slow all afternoon so it falls apart. MMMMMMM MMMMMMM GOOD!!!! :)

well best get my shower in and dressed and do a few things around here that need doing so off i go.....HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!!

Judy,

I love those big old XL tee shirts now.  I went to the fabric shop and got belt buckles...the ones that you can cover with fabric... BIG belt buckles... and I run the tee shirt through it to cinch it up on the side... I get more compliments on those... and they are fun and CHEAP to wear...

What a great idea, Janet.  I think I'll have to steal that idea when my 'loss' time comes.  I'm still waiting.
It is what it is.

Hi George and my OFF friends,

It's a quiet, rainy day here in Central AR. We've gotten more than 2 inches of rain since about 10:00 this morning, more to come, too. I love our rain gauge. It's so fun to watch it grow. It's digital and remote, even the little rain catcher automatically empties the water, so all we do is let it sit on the windwo sill and see what happens. I don't think the last three years we lived in San Diego we had a combined 15 inches of rain, but that's what we've had since Jan 1 here. I tell the family about it and they just don't get it.

Sounds like my SIL has found a spot for MIL to go live. It's a private residence where they take people who are not bedridden or needing real nursing care. More custodial, than nursing care. It it immaculate from what they could see, and both of Gary's sisters, even the one who live in a house straight out of Better Homes and Gardens was impressed. What a relief for everyone.

Well, that about wraps up what's going on here. Just Gary and I all day, easy supper and some cleaning. A whole lot different than what we're used to, but it's ok just the same.

Hugs and love to all!

Susan

Way to go George.  I love the horse races.  When I was younger my husband (then boyfriend) and I went almost everyday. Didn't spend a whole lot but it was still fun and I LOVE watching those beautiful animals run. They closed our racetrack about 10 years ago when the casino took all the business away. Now that the newness of the casino has warn off people would like to see horseracing back again but I don't think it will happen. Too bad.  I also know how hard it is to win like you did today. What a thrill that must have been.
