Hello! Trying to Stay Positive

Hi OFFr's,

I wanted to pop out of my shell to say that I have been spending hours on the computer looking for work, been on interviews that go no where and keep hoping that the right job shows up sooner rather than later.  When I'm not doing that, I am keeping Dillinger, who is doing rather well, far exceeding what I could have believed possible a month ago, company, or the things that need to get done around the house, which by the way, I got my COO on the new addition yesterday and my friends are coming on Sunday to move me into the new bedroom, though I had to cancel the furniture that was on order for the new sunroom/family room.

There have been way too many rainy, gloomy days lately and they contribute to getting me down, though I refuse to stay down; but realities are what they are and right now things are tough, so I am saving my energy for me, which has kept me from the boards, because when I stop reading want ads and submitting resumes online, my eyesight is tired and so what was once an enjoyable way of passing time is now something I can't wait to get away from, the computer once my friend, is now my "employer".

So if you've noticed I'm not on here as I once was, please feel free to drop me a PM, as it's always good to hear from friends and please know that I think of you gals and guys and I wish all newcomers both to the OFF Board and those that have recently joined the "Loser's Bench" a good journey.  Enjoy all of your WOW moments, keep track of them, as they are worth remembering the further out you get and when I feel up to it I will share the good part of what I am experiencing about my current cir****tances.

Hugs, prayers and lots of postiive thoughts for all (including myself), Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Dear Laureen, you are going through some hard times for sure.
It is really sad. Please keep positive. I may lose my job due to poor health,as I live alone,I do not know how that will play out.
Just keep trying,I am sure there is a job for you.
I send you a special hug,I wish I had more to give.

A lady posted several at home opportunities a week or so ago.  Maybe setting yourself up for a home based business is worth a try.  Sending out resumes, follow -ups, ads etc is one of the most depressing efforts known to the human race. I'd would rather be drawn and quartered then to fight this unemployed crowd.  I'am builder - enough said.  I have other income streams to get me through, but I had to lay off 2 crews and that hurt deeply. My wife and I have cut back in all areas - with the WLS our refer and pantry are bare.  These pull backs are good for us.  Amazing what you really need
Good luck and I truly wish you luck in your efforts to secure an income.
Its not your education or skills, its your effort

you are thought of often!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Laureen, I know that you have suffered so much disappointment lately. I sometimes wonder just what the whole picture is as I am sure most of us do. If only we had a magic ball and knew what the future is going to bring. I am sure that we all wish the same thing. The truth is that tough times are sent to us to reinforce our faith in who/what ever our Higher Power is and to let us know just what we are made of. I know that your faith is great and you are one tough lady in my eyes. Just know that my HP knows no time or days. He has no clocks nor does he have calenders. They were all invented by us humans because of the impatience that we have. Know that He is looking down and He knows just what is going to happen. He will take care of you now and always, please don't ever doubt or forget that. When he closes one door He opens another. Not always right away but the door will be opened for you.
I keep you in thoughts and prayers and please know that we are here for you whenever you need us.......heck even when you don't! We are a special family here and family never ever leaves you high and dry. I do love you, Laureen and I know that a better happiness is out there for you just waiting for you to find it.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
