Oprah Report
On the other hand, we all know about Al Roker and don't you find yourself shaking your head at him when he starts gaining weight again? Maybe she wasn't that confident that she wouldn't do the same.
I am prepping for the Sleeve. I don't plan to tell anyone outside of my very immediate family. I don't need people judging me or my actions, but then I'm not in the public eye.

Also. Oprah is a very strong and accomplished woman. I'm sure she would feel, just as Star did, that she should be able to control her weight and that it is a weakness and that having surgery is 'taking the easy way out' and would be embarrassed to admit to the world that she could not do it. I get that.
I saw the show and was suprised at the amount of compassion I had for Star Jones.
Originally, I found myself being very judgemental of her (prior to this show). I mean, the entire world knew that she had that surgery, but she could not bear to admit it. Listening to her today, I found myself nodding my head in agreement with her that she did not want to be the poster child for bariatric surgery.
I'm still waiting to hear if I can have mine this year (due to heart issues earlier this year I did not have it in January). I have told my very immediate family and only a couple of other people. I plan on succeeding in using this tool I'll be given, but I don't feel I need to tell the entire world about it.
I think that the Star I saw today was very different from the Star that I saw a year ago. For me, I'm going to not be judgemental of her and focus on just accepting the fact that she's a human being like the rest of us, and made a bad judgement call about lying about it all. She's come forward now and is trying to make it right to the world. And we should give her the opportunity to do so.

Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel
that you, too, can become great." ..... MarkTwain
You know what they say about opinions, everyone has one and that includes me. I was never very fond of Star Jones but public eye or not she has no oblication to tell anyone about her medical history or procedures. Maybe I am so strong about it because I CHOSE to tell people on a "need to know" basis about my surgery. it is no ones business. When asked how I lost the weight I simply said..and still do, I lost the weight with a doctors help, small high protein meals, every couple of hours, no bread or sweets and no CHEATING. and dats da truoof..
