I had my surgery on the 26th and i have had some issues already. I am burping all the time and I am  feeling like I want to throw up. I don't though. In the am I do fine but after 5 pm I am miserable. I don't have much pain. I feel like I have a finger in my thoart. I can hardly drink water after 5 but i do and I can't eat very much at one time. I am suppose to be on the Step2 diet--Full liquids. What am I doing wrong? I also got puemonia. I am not having much fun. Please tell me this gets better. Thank you.

Thank you Carla, I apprecaite the encouragement. Right now I feel good but it is in the morning. It's the evening I have trouble. I have also found that when I get worried and tense up i get sick. I am learning. Thanks again. Love Nancy.

Nancy,

It does get better! Oh the gas we pass - it can be down right awful.SkunkBurps are the least annoying of the two.

Carla made good points. You just had surgery and things are tender. Nope, you won't hold much at one time.

If you feel worse or run a fever, call your doctor.

Hugs

Annette,
Thank you for your kind words. It really helps to know that this is normal. I was prepared for everything I thought but the reality is an eyeopener. I hadn't planned on puemonia either. Thank you for being there. Love NAncy

Nancy - I think that everyone has pretty much said what I would say... however, have you tried something warm?  I find that warm V8 or soup is my best friend when I am tighter.  I absolutely love the Campbells soup at hand tomato with parmesan cheese and can do it when nothing else is working.

Sorry to hear you have pneumonia, too.  Perhaps that is contributing to your nausea - the meds, drainage, etc.  And by the afternoon you are more tired, too.

Things will get better.

Hi Nancy, it does get better. Be sure you are taking lots of deep breaths. You could be having some nasal drainage going into your pouch. That could be causing your nausea. I also burped a lot at first. Keep yourself hydrated. Good luck. Mona
