Welcome - I also am 58 and have 1 daughter and 1 son and my DS and DIL have given me a wonderful grandbaby and another on the way for Sept.

I now find it easier to babysit my 15 month old and am looking forward to running after her this summer.

WElcome to the forum, its the best one. Lots of wonderful people here. Your story is much like mine. I was going with lap band in the beginning and change to RNY. Just seemed right for me. Like you I want to have fun with my grankids and keep up with them. I had my surgery on the 23rd of Feb. 2009. So I am about 5 weeks now. Hope you enjoy it here.

Sweets are my downfall.  Sometimes it doesn't matter though what surgery you choose, because I don't dump.  A lot of people don't honestly.
