Good Morning ot my OFF family!

I cannot believe that no one has started the thread this morningand it is 5:14 in NC.  I have been reading but barely have had time for anything else.  It has been a crazy week.  I am sure you have all had them.

We lost a member of our church  a classmate's mother, and I got a call telling me that a cousin was on hisa death-bed all before noon on Monday morning.  The cousin is still hanging in there by a thread as I type.  My mom is "ready to go" and "I am just tired".  Other than that I guess it was a fairly uneventful week!

I hope all of you are doing well this morning and I am sending prayers to all in need.  God Bless and have a great day.

Morning Vera and OFF friends,

God certainly does pile a lot on "our plate" sometimes....
I hope your days get better soon, Vera.   I am having some things going on too, but trying to keep smiling....I know they will get better.

I'm off to a women's retreat this morning....it's an all day event and I know I will have a wonderful time....will come home renewed and full of the spirit.

It's about 30 degrees here this morning but supposed to warm to the low 50's and tomorrow we are to have a rain/snow mix all day.......yuck!   DS has a big track meet all day and it's going to be really cold for the kids this morning.

Drinking my decaf tea and will do my hair and makeup
soon and get on the road....we are driving down to Indiana for the retreat......not far, about 15 miles.

Have a sunshine filled day.....and my prayers for all who need them, especially the folks in the North Dakota flood area.

Enjoy your retreat, Wish I was goin with you!! They are always so refreshing. I haven't
been able to go to any this year do to the finance department. Enjoy!!
As for Weekend, got a call 6.00 a.m. on my phone from someone out of the past, that
I thought was gone forever. Not so lucky I guess, I did not answer, but, know the # that showed up, that is scary enough. I almost answered due to being woke up from sleep & not having glasses on yet. I am sure glad I didn't.
Anyway other than that need to be on guard for the rest of the day the he does not show up. REALLY BAD IDEA if he does. I won't hesitate to call the police.
(nuff said)
Vera hope your weekend is better than your week has been. Try & smile. Prayers for
you & family to get through all this rough news.

Have a good Saturday All!!

Gosh, Vera, death so early in the week sure makes for a long week, doesn't it? I hate it when that happens.  Sure makes you look forward to the rest of the week but being oh so glad when the week is over.  Bless your heart. AND, trying to sell real estate with a smile on your face.  Hard to keep the Pollyanna up... you know, the one that comes with your real estate license?

Sorry there have been so many events for you this week... My grandmother was 86 when she passed and not until she was hospitalized did we hear her saying she was ready to go and tired.... but I so know she was.

We've had another 'winter' yesterday....colder than crap. I think it's supposed to be 70 today, but I'm going to watch that weather thingee one more time.  You can't trust a remote and the weather channel at 2 in the morning.

No plans for me today other than work on the house... unless I go back into the office and play like it's Friday.  My computer was down most of the day so now I'm behind.

Hmmm, maybe another hours sleep before I head for $4.... I'm going back to bed.

Take deep breaths today and try to just enjoy that this week is OVER... start fresh tomorrow.

Vera - not a good week for you. I am sorry.

I bought myself some new clothes. Two articles would be dresses if I were 40 years younger. They will be nice as a long shirt over a pair of pants on me. I tried one on to show Tom, his eyes about popped out of his head until I reassured him it was a shirt and not a dress.

It's the week end. YAY

Good morning, Vera and my OFF family. I hope that this Saturday brings you happiness. I think that is something that we all are in need of right about now.

Vera, I am so sorry about the bad news that you have been receiving this week. I pray that things get better for you. I know it is hard when you look at death of people that we care about. It is hard and unpleasant but that is one way that God heals.......and it is the ultimate healing at that. I know that I have gotten bad news a few times this week. It hurts your heart badly.

My bff Ella called me and told me that her husbands father went to the ER for a backache and they found out that he has lung cancer that has gone to the spine and it has gone to the brain already. They have given him 4-8 weeks to live. They found a hospice for him and things are getting back to as normal as they can be. He hasn't had any warning with this or nothing. Just a backache that started and that is it. It is amazing how fast things can go and you have no idea what is going on. In the realm of things it is so important to make sure that your right in life and ready for the end of your life since you never know when it is coming.

My uncle is back in the nursing home and I believe that they have gotten hospice for him too. He is at the end of his life but he is ready and has been for a long time. He is going to be 92 and has been very sick for about the last year of so. I am so worried about my aunt though. They are so close and have been for 65 years. They just had their 65th anniversary and knowing it is their last one to celebrate together makes me sad. They are both deaf and depend on each other much more than normal couples. Aunt Virginia has Alzheimer's and so that is even more hard for her. Sometimes life can be so confusing and in plain words it can just suck!

The sun is out but it is cold. It is only in the 30's out and we are under a winter storm watch for today and tomorrow. I am hoping that it misses us since we are on the edge of the storm but we just have to wait and see. I hadn't heard anything about how much might be coming. That makes me afraid......very afraid! You can get a couple of inches or you can shovel Lake Michigan out of your front yard. Oh Carla........we might need your sun shovel for the snow!

I better get moving. I want to eat my breakfast. I can't eat for a while after I get up. I never could.

I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up for everyone. I hope that you all find something to smile about since smiling makes things look better. Besides it brings happiness to ourselves and to others.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Good Morning, All

Last night was a loooong night at work.  I just crawled out of bed.  Not moving so fast right now.  Sometimes I think there's not enough coffee in the world....

Today I'm hoping to get outside and start a little Spring yard cleanup.  Only if the temp tops 50.  And there's some sun.   I refuse to freeze.  Forecast looks good for this afternoon.

I have some wooden trimwork to cut and fit and put up in my back hall.  After 2 years of looking at it, I think I'm ready.  I actually figured out how to reuse most of it, so the project won't be quite as involved as I originally thought.  When I think it's going to be overwhelming, I just can't make myself start.  Thus, 2 years...

I restarted PT for my shoulder this week.  Moving better already.  I refuse to have the surgery unless I can't move it at all.  Looking at 2 months of PT at a minimum, but I'm willing to put in the work.  I've had enough surgeries to last me a lifetime.

Gonna meet with a friend for dinner tonight.  I haven't seen her in a while, and we have a lot of catching up to do.  It'll be fun.

I read the thread every day, and enjoy keeping up with everyone.  Not much going on in my life that would interest anyone, so I don't post much.  Same old, same old.....

I'll be in Baltimore mid-April.  Hoping to connect with Aime for coffee or lunch.  I miss you guys!

Right now, more coffee.

Candy

Hi Vera and my OFF family:

Vera, sorry for your losses. My 90 (soon to be 91) year old aunt has been saying she's ready to go for the past year; she's still here. They removed a mass from her colon two months ago and she's still in there fighting. She's rather remarkable. Sixty years ago, she had ovarian cancer -- a tumor the size of a grapefruit (stupid doctor told her that her symptoms were in her mind -- she kept on him until he did something and then he had to apologize for ignoring her). She turns 91 on Tuesday. A tough old broad.

My foot with the removed ingrown nail is doing OK ... it hurts a little, but not much ... more like a dull ache than anything.

I have to work tonight so not much else going on. I'm on the phone right now with my friend Mary Kay, who's in Baton Rouge wintering with her family.

Well, not much else happening here. Have a good day.

Eileen Briesch
