Good Morning What's new with you this Friday?
The Galapagos Islands -- what an amazing trip that will be!! Have the best time of your life there and enjoy every minute! Grace Kelly--what a beautiful, gracious woman. Not like movie stars of today.
I had a good genealogy meeting last night. Raff Ellis, the author of Kisses From A Distance was the speaker. His parents were Christian immigrants from Lebanon and after his mother passed away he discovered over 200 letters of hers that she had kept. Using those letters and after several trips back to Lebanon to meet relatives and learn his family's history, he wrote her memoirs. His grandmother had joined a cloistered convent but the priest "sold her out," told her that he had good news and that she was going to be married! This came as quite a shock to her. He pushed her out the gates of the convent to "talk" to the man who then kept her talking until dusk when it became too late for her to return inside the convent. Once dusk comes all nuns had to be inside the gate or they were considered not pure. I can't wait to read the book.
It's a beautiful, sunny day here in MI, albeit cold, and I'm heading out for my walk in a minute or two. Yesterday I bought a new pedometer so I can keep better track of the miles I walk. Since I've been recording my miles in prep for the 3-Day, I'm up to 37.5.
Have a beautiful day!

on to your destination.

I just installed Flock on the computer. It is so fast and makes Aol. ancient!!!!!.
Oh how I wish I could go on a small cruise ship and be treated like royalty!!!!!, That will have to wait.
I just got back from the Doctor a little while ago. My blood pressure is very low. Not sure why.
More blood tests in 2 weeks to see where my thyroid is. She lowered the dose to 125 and I dont like it there. I like 150 better.
I am getting ready for Carls friend to come for a week on the 31st. So traveling around the state we will go.
April 6th we are going to North Carolina for 6 days. Meeting up with Joyce Stewart and John for a night. Maybe Sheila.
My cat Tevia seems to have hurt himself. I think he bumped his lip or something. Me get fiesty when I pet him around his mouth. I may have to take him to the vet on Monday.
Well enough for today.

Linda,
This sounds like a wonderful trip. I saw a cruise that included Costa Rica and the Galapagos. I believe only so many people a year are allowed to visited there?
Hoping your health issues are readily resolved. It's a journey that we certainly need to keep our eyes open on isn't it? I will turn over my labwork to my PCP this year. My weight loss surgeon is in Seattle and insurance doesn't cover his office visit which is $250.00. So I trust my PCP and she is here in town. Need to make an appointment with her; also have put off getting a new gyn. . . Mine died last year. I absolutely loved him. I have the name of a female that my neighbor goes to. Think I'll give her a try.
Not much else. Windy here today. Didn't sleep well so I'm tired this AM. Getting laundry done and packing for 3 days on the Oregon coast. We try to take a lot of food stuff from here as resort town stores tend to be pricey.
You all have a nice weekend.

Linda..it is so good to see you!! I loved your post about rodeos and the cruise you are going to take. Excellent adventures ahead of you!
You made me flash back on some wonderful memories of horses, rodeos, etc. I grew up on a farm and had my beautiful Smokey, a dapling grey gelding who was my best friend. We rode the hills and valleys with my dog, Lady, alongside. We even entered barrel racing in few small rodeos....and oh what fun those days were!! There's nothing like a young girl and her horse and dog that is more close to pure love....Ha! Thanks for the warm memories.
Your trip sounds glorious!! Please come in a tell us all about it. I am such a slug I don't dream of traveling anywhere anymore. When I do have to leave the island, I dread the airport mess, the insane traffic on the mainland, and just the general speed of life in the "real world."
Tomorrow we have our annual Homeowners' meeting....and it's going to be a doozy. They want to tent our whole building for termites, and many of us with animals are not too happy about that. The building is almost completely concrete except for the penthouses at the top....so we're hoping they come up with a treatment plan that doesn't mean we have to move out for a week.
I've been getting extra hours at the hospital with the babies lately. I'm really loving that....it means a few bags of groceries, a tank of gas paid for. Love those babies!
OK.....so nice as always to spend a few minutes with you all. Linda, I hope your medical problems are solved easily and don't interfere in any way with your plans.
Aloha nui loa,
Maui Karen
The trip sounds fantastic. I would love to do something like that. Maybe when I'm rich ... ha! when will that ever be ... not with getting my pay cut.
I went to the podiatrist this morning to have him look at my left big toe, on which the nail was cracked and yucky looking and it was painful. I thought maybe it was ingrown. Yup, I was right. So he wound up doing surgery right there. In the course of conversation with his nurse, I mentioned my knee replacement, and the podiatrist came in and said, "Knee replacement? Are you allergic to anything?" Well, of course, I needed to take antibiotics before he did any procedure. I knew that, he knew that ... I just wasn't prepared for anything. So he quickly got some into me. I must be extremely sensitive, because he numbed up the toe very well twice and I still felt him cutting into ... he had to numb it up again. Anyway, here I sit with my leg up and a stylist surgical shoe on my foot. And of course my left foot now is cold because the socks they give you aren't warm enough.
I was going to stop at Walgreens on the way back ... seems my prenatals are on long-term back order and the doc said to get Flintstones chewables ... yuck! I hate chewables! They get stuck in my teeth and I hate the taste of them twice. I really would rather swallow a pill. So I'm going to find other vitamins and take those, along with other supplements, of course. Any suggestions? I just would rather not take Flintstone chewables again.
Well, I need to get some food into me and get my food elevated better than I have it now. Have a good day.
