Good Morning What's new with you this Friday?
My clock just turned over to midnight so It is officially Friday at least in eastern and central time zones. I haven't posted in forever. Been busy. The rodeo was in town for three weeks, and we are rehearsing our Easter music. We will do Handel's Passion on Palm Sunday with orchestra, so many rehearsals are necessary. I spent many days at the rodeo watching quarter horses and Paints in speed events. Such beauty and in a smaller areana where you can see each muscle move. I was jealous of these horses as their owners provide them with hair extentions so their tails fall just above the ground. Looks a little silly on horses I think. I much prefer the natural look. I also enjoyed the mule and donkey shows. I didn't know they competed in the same events as the horses. Mules barrel racing...amazing. I know absolutely nothing about horses etc. but I love to watch them.
Today I received my travel packet from the travel company for my April trip. DH and I are going to the Galapagos Islands. It will be warmer than I like it but oh so worth it. I have wanted to go there for decades. If I don't go now I'll be too old and physically unable to do all the tours. Our 7 days are loaded. I didn't know the history of our ship, but reading the info today I discover an interesting fact. I knew it was a small yacht as cruise ships go. It only has an 18 passenger capacity. There are 8 crew members and 2 naturalists. A small boat can get to islands that larger ships can't. The yacht is name the Grace. What I didn't know is that the present owner refurbished her and renamed her in honor of her original owner Princess Grace of Monoco. What a hoot. I am spending a week on Princess Grace's personal yacht. If walls could talk. I am not impressed by celebraties today but I think I would have enjoyed meeting Grace Kelly.
I have had some health issues surface in the last couple of days and hope they are resolved before my trip or at least able to be tabled until I get home. It seems I have something in my left kidney(probably very small stones) and something near my spleen. Ultra sound showed a solid something not attached to the spleen or Kidney but near the spleen. Probably a calcium deposit or a cyst....maybe... I had a CT scan today and hope to know tomorrow. I hate to wait over a week-end for information. I am so not patient. I want answers yesterday.
Well chat on.....
Good morning, ya'll.
Linda, that sounds like a trip to remember. I'll bet you have a wonderful time. I love to travel and would so like to go to so many places. Unfortunately, no one is giving those fun trips away!!
My DH made a HUGE pot of his ham and beans yesterday. YUCK!! I absolutely do not like ham and beans. Everyone else does though. So we had DS, DIL and both grandsons over. They love Grandpa's ham and beans.
Our daughter called yesterday to say she needs a baby layette set before April 15th. Blue and white. A sweater, hat, booties and blanket. I finished the sweater during 'My Name Is Earl' last night. This AM the hat and booties. I'll begin the blankie after lunch sometime. That should take me 2 days.
I've been putting off doing our pills and now I HAVE to do them tomorrow. Some people divide their pills into containers weekly. I do ours quarterly. So it takes me a couple of hours to do them. I've been sort of waiting to see what my DH is gonna need as far as his diabetic meds. We've decided to just go with the Metformin twice a day. His PCP lets him adjust the glucotrol as needed.
Everyone have a fantabulous Friday!!
I met my daughters MIL (Sue) at a local restaurant. Our waitress was my X's latest girlfriend. Man oh man, she isn't very friendly. The X and I have been divorced for 23 years, he's had another wife and countless girlfriends since then - Geeze - she shouldn't feel anything towards me. Not my problem.
Sue and I went mattress shopping. It was comical to hear the games played by the salesman. He had to keep checking with a supervisior to give Sue a "one chance only" deal. HA!!! When I told Sue that there was another good place to shop, he quickly dropped the price very low and offered to make delivery FREE.
Since Sue moved with almost nothing, I have gone through the house and can supply her with tons of housekeeping essentials. For once being a pack rat is helping.
Tom so nicely shared this head cold and tummy yuck with me. One more work shift and I plan to put on my jammies and crawl into bed. I might not leave until Monday morning.
Toodles - have a great weekend

So glad to see you this morning. In fact, I was thinking about you yesterday.
Candy and I are flying into Houston for a cruise. Had we drove, we could have stopped and visited for a bit... but alas, we are winging it on this trip.
Your cruise sounds wonderful. I'm trying to find one for my son and myself for September. You might PM me and give me some details.
Hey, I ain't just been to my first rodeo either....

Hope your tests come out okay for the health issues.
Would love to see you. Come back to Dallas!!!
Janet
Lindy, I'm so jealous of your trip. What a wonderful experience. Sure hope your health issues get answered well in advance of you leaving.
Hair extensions for horse tails??? Hmmmm
Today the salon girls are celebrating my birthday. None of them are real cooks and are intimmidated by my skills. Now they're all worried about what to bring for the pot luck, not realizing just the fact that they care enough to do it for me means so much more than WHAT it is. I just asked that they not serve okra, deer meat or squash. I'm good with just about anything else. It's going to be a fun day. I'm only doing one client tomorrow, then hit the yard and estate sales with Gary to restock his supplies for amazon.com and e-bay. He makes enough every month to equal his pay with the State, so whatever help I can give is NO problem.
Thank you one and all for all of the warm and wonderful birthday wishes I've recieved. Margo and Annette, your cards came yesterday and they're so appreciated! Everyone of you are such dear ones to me, I still don't know what I would ever do if I didn't have my OFF family.
I love you all!!!

TGIF....what a week!!!
Linda ...your trip sounds wonderful. I am so jealous. I haven't been on a trip in many, many years. I too would have loved to meet Grace Kelly. What a lady!!
I hope your test results are good. Please let us know how they turn out.
I have to work about 3 hours today. Lots of phone calls to make. I am glad the weekend is near!
I was supposed to go on a weekend get away with a group of friends from the MN board. I decided not to go because of my family issues. Sure would have been a fun time. We have started a tradition and do it every year. I am sad that I will miss this one.
Nothing much else to talk about. I will check in later. Seems quiet on here today...everyone sleeping in??
Prayers to those in need. Have a good day.
Love and hugs to all....connie d
Linda, I so sorry to hear you're having health problems. Prayers that you can get them resolved soon. What a wonderful trip - Grace Kelly, what a beautiful, elegant woman. One of our doctors went to the Galapagos islands for a study project. The pictures he brought back were spectacular. The rodeo sounds like fun. As for singing. Love to do it, but people around me wish I wouldn't! LOL
Wow, we had some serious weather! Woke me about 3:30 Fri. morning, got a break just in time to drive to work. Cleared during the day, and started up again last night around 7. Continued all night and stopped again in time to drive to work. Thank you Lord! Some street flooding, but I managed to avoid it by taking the back way.
Been having a few health issues myself with the low bp and pulse. I check it twice a day. One out of 4 - 5 times, it's in the normal range. Had two dizzy spells yesterday. I go on the 1st for an echo and monitor - whoopee.
We'll have Ethan this weekend!!! Hope to take him fishing Sunday.
Have a great day and weekend.
Debbie
