I like this "over 50" thing going on here...I'm 58 and just had RNY on 3/9/09. I'm doing pretty well - trying to get in protein goal & fluids & exercise. Two weeks today! I can hardly believe it!!! Any suggestions any of you have to help out will be received with open arms. Glad to be part of your group.
Hi & Welcome!!
2 weeks out, boy do I remember those days even though it was 5 yrs ago for me.
First off, since you are still post-opp you should be following what your Doc has ordered for now. All Doc's are different & your first 4-6 weeks differ from doc to
doc. Mine had us on pureed foods for 6 weeks before trying any real food. So do
& stick to what you have been told. If you are trying real food just be sure it is small
amounts 2-4 oz. only & chew, chew & chew some more before swallowing that. Most
likely you won't get more than2 oz the first few weeks anyways. Good Luck & if you
have specific questions let us know & we can help as you go along. Your adventure
is just beginning & what a adventure that first year will be fore you. Hold on tight as the
weight starts falling & fast. You won't beleive the changes you are about to see!!
Best of Luck to you & all goes well for you!
