Hello All,
After what seems like an eternity, I have finally been approved for the lapband surgery. While working through the appeal process, I was notified of a possible job transfer to occur soon after the surgery. So, I am looking for words of wisdom regarding how soon a person can safely travel internationally after having surgery. Thanks so much.

Well, within 24 hours of my lap band surgery I was on an airplane. From San Diego to NC. Actually 2 flights, a total of 6 hours, then a 2 hour car ride home. No problems.
I am suspecting by International you are meaning perhaps 10 or 12 hours long? Get up and walk around a lot! I would also be concerned with finding someone to handle your follow-up.
I have a friend who has been to Europe twice, Cabo twice, Hawaii 2 or 3 times and many cross country flights since being banded 4 years ago. She has also not had a trouble. She travels a lot for business, plus summer vacations and Spring Break every year they go somewhere fun.

Thank you so much! I'm feeling much better about this now. I'll be flying out of Chicago or Detroit to Japan, so I will make sure to be get an aisle seat that a way I can get up to move around throughout the flight. I've got a plan A, B, and C for followup care. I am just hoping it will all work out.
I am soooo ready!!
