I'm a bit bummed. Shouldn't be. but having a little pity party for one. I'm not going to Italy on April 8th as planned. My friend I'm to go with has some serious health issues that prevent her going at this time. We'll replan for fall. This is the trip plan that just goes on, and  on, and on. Resheduling the air fare will cost us at least $250.00. We have insurance on the tour so that should be ok. In the whole scheme of things my life is so good. We had a wonderful week with the twins. Arrived home on Friday exhausted but with full hearts. I'll post a couple of first birthday pics on my profile. I'll check back in later.

Hi,

Wow, Italy!  I'd like to visit Ireland again.  There are a couple trips that we know about but very expensive.  I hope you get there soon.

Yawwwwwn, up with a sick dog this morning, need my morning java.  Have a good day dispite the postponement.  Hope your friend will be ok.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

OH WOW Karen i know how excited you were to be able to go to Italy but so sorry your friend is sick...is it something that she is going to be alright from? that is really the important thing...and all things happen for a reason, i really believe that....who knows the plane that you were going to take might have crashed or a taxi that you might have been on had a wreck ...what ever there was probably a good reason for not going. i guess im too much of an optimistic but dont get down about it. as they say all good things come to those who wait. altho i dont think i could have been anything but dissapointed to about a trip to Italy being posponed lol....one of those trips of a lifetime.

I can't believe those babies are a year old already!  Man oh man, time really does fly.

so sorry about your trip, but at least it's postponed, not cancelled. The insurance is a Godsend. My SIL became very ill on a Mediterraian cruise and had to be hospitalized in Italy, then flown home and it was completely covered.

Hope your friend is feeling better soon.  Italy will always be there.

Happy Sunday to all!
Karen, I agree Italy will be there when you CAN make it!! I don't think you would have wanted anything to happen to your friend on this trip, so waiting will be over before you know it!! I am headed to church today & then after that don't have a clue
what I am up to. Probably NASCAR watching!! Prayers for those in need today &
have a Blessed Sunday!!

I hope you will be able to reschedule that trip sooner rather than later. It is a fantastic country. I met my DH in Rapallo, Italy 45 years ago and would love to go back.

Ah, grandbabies.  Such a wonder God gives us.  My youngest is now 12 and I still don't know where the years went!

The NC grandsons were here for their Sunday morning BLT's.  They just left with our lawn mower and weed eater.  Their mower is broken down, and I guess one of them is gonna mow, one of them use our weed eater, and our son will use his weed eater, while our DIL uses their edger.  I hope they swing by here when they are done!!  I have a pot roast done in the pressure cooker planned for Sunday dinner at 1 PM.

My Mom called at 8:30.  Her usual time to call me on Sunday morning is 10 AM.  She said she woke up sick. Some kinda stomach bug PLUS congested. She was gonna take some meds and go back to bed.  She'll call me when she wakes up again.  I worry about her a lot, but she is very independent and stubborn!

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good morning to you, Karen, and I am sorry that your trip has been postponed. I know it is a huge disappointment but you will make it to Italy. I hope that your friend is going to be alright. I will keep her in my prayers.

Today is church and then home to finish up the living room. We got a lot done yesterday so I just have bits and pieces to finish up. Nothing much, just finding homes for things that have been sitting around. I got the furniture rearranged and it looks alright. It kind of closes up the living room since I separated the dining room from it with the sofa. I told Bill that I wish I had a bigger place but for now it is a nice roof over our heads. That is the important thing.

I am going to church in a few minutes. I will have to do the Lay Speaking part of the service again this week and then next and then it goes on to another Lay Speaker. I will be glad of that. I really don't like being up in the front, I like sitting in the pew much better.

I guess I should get going. Nothing much going on here that's for sure. I am looking forward to just vegging tonight and watching television. Cold Case is on tonight along with The Unit. We love watching those shows.

I am sending love and hugs to all along with prayers. I hope that everyone has a wonderful day and don't forget to smile, you will bring happiness not only to your own life but to others too.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

ItalyWhat a shame Karen. Italy will still be waiting when you can reschedule.

My daughter's MIL arrives in a couple of hours. A slight change of plans - she will be staying in a motel instead of here. Her cat has fleas and I can't have my 7 exposed.

Tom is waiting for me to shave his head. He has a full head of hair all Winter but likes it bald all Summer. Kind of like sheering a sheep.

We woke up in the middle of the night and Tom wanted a bagel. I decided it sounded yummy and ate one too. Big mistake. It felt like a wad of cement in my throat. The bagel wouldn't go down and wouldn't come up. Lesson learned - don't eat bagels in the middle of the night.

FYI without giving too much info. I'll post this so that hopefully you'll all see it. My friend had a bad bout with constipation a few months ago. She is not a WLS patient so just the regular stuff. However, in her straining she managed to really mess things up inside resulting in tears. Three months of meds, soaking, you name it and she is still not healed. We talked and decided touring Italty, long plane rides, walking for hours, sitting on buses, would be absolutely miserable for her so hence the postponement til fall. I'm disappointed but neither of us would have any fun with her ill. And she could have further complications. Three doctors have recommended surgery so now that the trip is canceled she will proceed. Plus. . . her daughter just gave birth to grandbaby #3, a little boy. He was a few weeks early and is having some breathing difficulties. A collapsed lung. Poor little guy. He was 6 lbs and is getting a bit better each day. Sounds like she needs to be close to home doesn't it? A trip is a trip. In the whole scheme of things nothing that can't be rearranged! A word to the wise. Don't let constipation get out of hand. I'm still a firm believer in prunes and prune juice when necessary tho I seldom have a problem. First thing in the morning or I'm a grouch. . .
