I soloed with my M&M's last night. Tom came home with such vertigo that he couldn't move without nausea. The little ones were expecting an outing and we didn't want to disappoint them.When I arrived Matthew ran to me and announced "Grandma's HOME". Mary asked if I was positive that I wanted to take both of them on my own. Jeepers, how did I manage to raise her and her sister?
They cooperated by holding my hand, that was the rule. First we went to the Hallmark store. Melanie HAS to get a new bear every time we shop. She has radar for bears and we found a perfect one there. Next we went to Michael's (craft store). Before long we had filled the cart with all sorts of fun toys. Matthew gave the clerk our money and Melanie helped him load our bags.
Friendly's seemed the best dinner choice for a 2 and 3 year old. M&M placed their own order "Mac n' Cheese, FF's and chocolate milk, please". The waitress smiled at them. Me too.
Although the place was busy, they were content to sort through the new purchases and quietly wait for our food to arrive.
On the drive home we pass through a long series of traffic lights. I could tell when the lights were about to change and said "poof, lights change". The kids thought it was funny to see Grandma do magic with the lights.
Mary wanted to know how I managed to shop and take them to a restaurant without difficulties. Smile, it is called
GRANDMA MAGIC.It was a perfect night. Thanks for letting me brag.

Good Saturday morning, Ya'll.
Much colder here this weekend. It feels more like a crisp Fall morning, than Spring.
The house across from us went up for sale yesterday. This worries me. There are 2 other houses on our street for sale. Those neighbors are usually gone every weekend, and are again this weekend. Stephanie and I visit near the mail boxes a couple of times a week, and she never mentioned this. I mean, it's not like we are best friends, or anything. But this just came as a big shock to most of us on the street.
My DIL was so sure her job would not be impacted by this bad economy. She has now learned they are cutting her vacation days and paid holidays. But she is so happy she still has a job!!

It's spring, but we still don't have warm weather. It's 38 degrees this morning.
Busy day today. I have a men's meeting at church in a couple hours. It's a result of the men's retreat we went to a few weeks ago. I'm still in such a great mood because of that weekend. Tonight there's a chili dinner and raffle fundraiser at church being held for the special needs organization that uses our church to meet. They've decided to donated all funds to the church who plans on putting a men's restroom downstairs. Hope I win the raffle, the big prize is a 52" flat screen tv. There's also restaurant gift cards, and Colts and Pacer tickets. Even if I don't win, it sure is a good cause.
Our new windows look fantastic and I'm so glad they're done. It'll be even nicer once we get blinds to cover them up. We have a company coming on Monday to measure and give us an estimate. Monday night we're also having a designer come over to help design our new kitchen. Need to call a guy about our new backyard fence too. Lots of big plans at our house, huh?
I finished the 5 day pouch test. I did pretty good and got rid of some bad habits, not to mention that I lost 5 pounds.

Didn't want to get up this morning, but a certain cat was pestering me and meowing so I finally gave in.
It's house cleaning this morning and not much else. It's in the high 20's here, but supposed to get to 50 today.
I usually try to clean on Friday afternoon, but had started a new book and couldn't put it down....

Major rennovations for your home, Floyd....glad all is going well. Congrats on losing the 5 lbs.
Next Saturday I am going to an all day retreat for our LWML district (Lutheran Women's Missionary League).
Elaine Bickel will be the speaker and she is fantastic.

Oh, they have finally relented and are allowing me to work an extra 1/2 hr. each day at the bank.....I am so overwhelmed with pd files, it's crazy. Yesterday I worked like mad and did 13 discharges in 3 1/2 hours...
I normally get 9-10 done in 3 hrs. When I took the cart back upstairs, there were 13 NEW FILES waiting for me......I'll never catch up! Job security, I guess.
Off for some breakfast now....yogurt and a little Kashi
(even tho' it contains soy, I'm still eating a little of it).

morning carla and OFF family...well its a nice crisp morning here in willoughby ohio....supposed to get to 50 today and better as the week goes on....happy with that!!!
have a dentist appointment today to see if anything is wrong with the root canal tooth....seems there IS something wrong with it because if i eat hot food and chew on that side i get this excruciating pain in that tooth!!! so have to see what the dr says about it. i sometimes wish i had it pulled instead!!!
need to get a new pair of shoes to work in....feet are hurting with the ones i have now. especially on the big toes!!! they aren't tight at all and not sure why i am getting callouses?? on the sides of the big toes!!!! weird!! so after the dentist we will go to look for new shoes for me.
not much else planned at all for today. not having money prevents doing things...keep praying that ricks boss calls him back soon. not many jobs out there that are hiring full time and pay close to what he was making at the machine shop!!!
well better get shower in and face on and then dressed and go to appointment....have a great day everyone!!!
Well the dogs are doing better. At least they are playing together. Linus, the new one really has an attitude!! He does sit on command & will stay sometimes. He knows cookie & bedtime too.
I can't wait until May. Carla, I am so excited. So is my niece. She wants to take a few days off for us. Well I best go, I have already cleaned my car, walked the dogs & loaded the wood stove. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!

Today is spring cleaning day. Bill and I decided that we need to totally clean this place. I am so tired of it never being done so today is the day. Nothing else to do so why not. We are going to move the furniture around here in the living room and when we hit the bedroom (which isn't going to be today that is for darn sure!) the furniture there gets moved around too. He is not going to like that at all! Oh well, he will get over it. I hope that I have the energy to do what I want to do. I would like to dust the walls and clean them too. We shall see what it brings today. That might be for tomorrow or another week end. Today is not the only day to do everything. After all, it is spring for a while!
Misty is on the back of the couch sleeping. She must have had a busy night with her venturing all over working so hard to find things to get into. It seems that whatever she finds automatically ends up in her water dish or right in front of it. She is so predictable! She is a pain in my bee hind but she is all mine.
I guess I had better get going. I want to get breakfast ~ slim fast low carb shake with added milk to thin it out. I use to be able to drink it alone but not any more. It just makes me want to gag if it is to thick. So I make "chocolate milk" out of it. Yum!
