Good morning Carla and everyone.
I havent posted in awhile, but thought I would today. I have lurked but just not been chatty.

Floyd, you got me inspired! Im gonna do the pouch test again too. I have gained some and its stressing me out big time, so Im gonna catch it now before it gets out of hand.

Today its in the 50's here, and Im cleaning house like some of the others. I had been so busy lately that I hadnt had time to do much other than an occasional load of laundry and a dishwasher of dishes! Things are piling up!

Tonight we have a Wives Night Out at church. The husbands are all going to the Beef House and taking the wives, for fellowship. Its a big fancy place,,and I dont know what I will eat, but Im determined to be good.

Ive got my indoor garden started,,planted flowers and pepper plants in little trays to transplant outside when all danger of frost is over. Im redoing the whole landscape thing in the yard, and so excited and ready to get started. Is it me, or has this winter seemed interminable?? Im also excited because my sister that I found on the internet after 24 years,,is moving to Indiana, just a couple of miles from me. We are gonna have so much fun getting reacquainted!!

Hubby had a real job upset,,and left Midas over a pay conflict. Fortunatley, they made it right, gave him a big raise and hired him back. They told him he was not only their best  store manager ,,he was regional manager material and there was a promotion in his near future. Im so relieved. He had already been offered another job and had taken it, but Midas made it worth his while, and then some,,to come on back. One thing about the automotive repair business, its booming right now because people are keeping the cars they have and repairing them rather then buy a new one. Mike has been a success because he is that rare find of an honest mechaninc,,LOL...he will tell ya if you dont need something done.

My daughter goes for a breast biopsy on Monday, and my daughter in law goes for an ovarian biopsy on Tuesday,,so I have been stressing,,which means stress eating,,thats not good. Ill be glad when thing get back to normal. But then, there is always a crisis if  you have a large family.

Guess I will go get busy, got another load of laundry to hang and another to start..just wanted to jump in here and say Good Morning to you all.

Blessings
Betsy

Betsy,

So good to hear from you.  The 5 day pouch test wasn't that bad.  I think I'll do it every other wee****il I get where I want to be again.

Glad Mike's job situation turned out for the best.

We're having another clothing exchange next month.  Please consider attending.  Haven't seen you in too long and we miss you.

Good morning Carla and everyone.....

I was supposed to leave for home today. Now all the plans have changed. My ex SIL got called into work today and tomorrow and can't keep the kids as planned. Carrie doesn't get back home until late tonight. Lucas and Amanda are really sick with colds. Kyleigh is too up and down to leave them with her for a that long. Oh well....that is what grandmas's do!!

A good friend of mine is having a Birthday Party tonight and Dwayne and I were invited. Guess he will have to go without me....I am soooo bummed out. I was so looking forward to that party!!

Ten days with the two cats is taking a toll on me. I am allergic to them and am so stuffed up, eyes are itching and runny, my chest hurts and on and on.  I so need to go home!!

Otherwise all is okay. I have had a good time with the kids....only a few tough moments.

Okay...enough whining.......

Sounds like all of you are keeping busy. Have a really nice day today. Special prayers to those in need.

Love and hugs to all......connie d

Hi Carla and my OFF family:

Big worries overnight and even though I eventually nodded off, it was after 3 a.m. I read myself to sleep and used the CD Linda B sent me (it's for weight loss but is really relaxing and usually lulls me to sleep),

Here's the reason: My boss sent around an e-mail yesterday just before he left work stating there was going to be an important meeting Monday (my day off because I work next Saturday) about our pay and other things affecting the operation of the company. I asked if it was mandatory; he said no, but he suggested I attend. I asked if I would be paid for it; he said no. At first I said I wouldn't come in and he said he would call me and tell me about it. But the more I thought about it, the more I decided I'd better come in for it, even though it meant spending gas and time. Then I read some stuff on this blog that has been telling what's going on in our company, and it's rumored that we're going to be told we have to take 10 unpaid leave days from Monday until Dec. 31. Plus, pensions will be frozen and our 401(k)s instead will be "enhanced".

Well, that really bites. I know I still have job, but taking 10 days without pay really hurts me because I can't afford it now while I'm still in bankruptcy for another year. Every penny counts for me ... and I haven't been able to put money into my 401(k) because of being in bankruptcy ... every penny goes into paying bills and making ends meet, and that becomes even rougher when I'm giving up 10 days of pay. I don't know how I'm going to do it. A part-time job would help, but there are people around here who can't get a full-time job. And most part-time jobs involve standing ... something I really can't do. It's not that I haven't looked for a part-time job ... I have, not with much success. Michigan jobless rate is the highest in the nation.

As we contemplated this last night after deadline, talking with my coworkers, one of them, Kim, said she would cut back giving up the Y membership ... well, I did that last year. I don't know what else to cut back on. I'm already thinking I won't go to see Margie this summer in the Twin Cities ... don't think I can afford it. I don't think I'm going anywhere for vacation. I'll just take my four weeks and sit at home. I drove home last night crying ... I know, it's stupid ... I still have a job and there are other people in much worse cir****tances. But I have been dealing with this for five years and everytime I think I'm getting to the top of the hole, I keep slipping backward. I can't climb out when my pay gets cut by 10 days.

Well, that's enough of a pity party for now. I need to unload. I've been holding it in all night. I cried to my kitties and they comforted me last night, but I've had no one to tell this to (other than my coworkers). I wish I could have taken the buyout and gone somewhere and done something else, but my cir****tances wouldn't allow it. At least I wouldn't have to deal with the ever-worsening problems of the newspaper industry.

Well, off to watch basketball, baseball and exercise. Have a good weekend. Sorry to depress y'all.

Hey, my husband grew up in Plainfield, and then moved to Bedford when he was a teen. My daughter and her family live in Plainfield now, they just moved from Michigan last summer. Have you been to Plainfield recently? Its really changed,,lots of stores, a Metropolis Mall,,its quite the hub of activity in Hendricks County!! beautiful little town!

Im thinking about doing that pouch teset on a regular basis too FLoyd,,like at least once a month. Im doing better keeping the cravigns down now, and today Mike and I are gonna go for along walk, to get me started back in the groove of that. In the summer I get all kinds of exercise because I walk everywhere, in the winter, I just sit a lot.
When and where is the clothing exchange? or should I look on the Indiana board?
Yep, Mike is happy with the way his job worked out, his store is at  86th and Michigan Road in Indy. If you are ever in the area stop in and say hi, hes there every day but Thursday and Sunday.
Well, its nice out today so we are gonna go work in the yard,,Im so anxious to get it ready for planting! Got a lot of seedlings we have started in trays so we have a lot of work ahead.

Have a great day everyone!!
Blessings
Betsy
