What's new Wednesday?
Good morning George and everyone.....
Oh what a day....
My grandson Lucas woke me up at 4:00AM having a nightmare. He cried and we cuddled until he fell back asleep about 5:00.He misses his mom!!
I had to get up at 6:00 to get the girls ready for school. Amanda is so easy going and was up and ready with no coaching.
Kyleigh was a little ****!! I had a hard time with her this morning. I spoke with the Dean at her school and told him I will not call in an excused absence for Kyleigh. She just didn't want to go. He told me to tell Kyleigh she better get there or she would be going back to that other school she hated. She finally got ready and went in an hour late. Lucas got up tired but got ready for school and off we went.
Now I am exhausted...I totally understand why we have our children young...grandparents just can't deal with all this!!
I have to get working at my job. More then enough to do that is for sure.
I have to take Kyleigh to see her Psychiatrist at 1:00PM. I hope he can set her straight once more!! I know she is struggling and I am trying to have patience.
I will check in later to catch up with everyone. Have a good day...remember to share a smile today.
Prayers to those in need.
Love and hugs to all......connie d

I am really dragging this morning. 2 days of driving, cooking, preping and cleaning for Our American legion Auxilliary Corned Beef & Cabbage dinner and we sold all we had in 40 minutes. But it was great, we had just enough( except for us who did all the work, but we had plenty of veggies to eat) People seemed to really enjoy themselves and sat around at their tables just visiting for quite a while. I was home by 8:30. But today I am so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open. Never did make it to Curves yesterday so I will have to do that today, church tonight and that is about all that is new for me. OH Liz and Ray came to the CB&Cabbage dinner so I got to show off my beautiful new grandson to everyone.
. Have a wonderful day..

Hi George and my OFF family:
You are the energizer bunny ... me, I was sleeping when you were writing. I stay up late, but not that late.
Well, I will have some new duties come April. One of the assistant sports editors is leaving via buyout and there's another sports person leaving (and of course no replacements coming ... only two people coming from Muskegon and Kalamazoo), so guess who will be the replacement on Saturday? Me! So starting March 30, I'm working Tuesday-Saturday. I hate giving up my Saturdays off, but I really don't go anywhere ... however, now when I want to have a weekend off, I'm going to have to request it. I can't just pick up and go for the weekend. For instance, I had already asked for Easter week off and figured I'd have Saturday (April 11, my birthday) off too. Well, with the new schedule, I had to quickly ask my boss to schedule me off that Saturday too, because I have to go to Chicago for my grandnephews' birthday party that day. Already planned, on the schedule, can't change it. I'll have Sunday and Monday off now, which I've done before ... most of my life as a sportswriter I never had a Saturday off, so this is nothing new.
The good part of it is, there's really not a lot for me to do Monday through Thursday at nights. I'm getting done really early and it scares me with the lack of work, and I told my boss that. So I'm glad that at least one of those days I won't have that. Plus, I'll also be helping out in sports on Friday nights after I get done with my duties on the news desk. When I got in yesterday, I was told to help out in sports last night, because one of their copy editors was out sick, but they don't start until 9, and I'm just finishing up then. I proofed a page for them and said I'd stick around, but Amy and Gretchen, their two lead editors, told me not to bother. So I went home.
That's my big news. I'll miss the Saturdays watching baseball, but then I'll have Mondays when I can catch up on baseball games too. And I can DVR games, so that's always a possibility for the Sox games on Saturday.
Well, it's still 55 degrees out there today, although it's supposed to cool off again. I know it's a false spring, but it sure was nice to wear lighter-weight clothing and spring jackets and not turn the fireplace on at night. I didn't open the doors ... the pollen is moving around and I can feel it already. I've started taking a second allergy med to counteract that. Pretty soon, I'll start the nasal spray, too.
Well, have a good day, whatever you're up to.

I would not be able to DVR the baseball games if I was working the sports desk. Is it just local sports? If so, that is a different story. I would have to avoid any contact with the results of the game. DVRing it would then work, zip through the commercials and watch an entire baseball game in 90 minutes or less.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Good Morning Everyone!
It looks as if everyone is busy, retired and working people alike. I am very busy with Spring Break and STAR testing just around the corner! I just finished decorating the faculty room. I have these cute ceramic baskets and chicks with half eggs that I planted with grass. So CUTE! Everybody is working to stay positive as layoffs are on the horizon.
Last night I went to our Kelley Bros. and had some fun! I had a green beer and corned beef and cabbage- but best of all is the social atmosphere with good friends that meet on this special night. I had to run to TOPS in the middle because they were surprising me ( I knew- otherwise I was skipping TOPS that night) with an honoring for my 100+ pounds lost. That was very sweet and in addition to about 25 Congratulation cards (which I love because people write from the heart into them- the best part) and $125 for a new outfit.
Recess is almost over- enjoy your spring day!

Hi GEorge and folks,
I did get up and get my 30 minutes on the tread mill done. But didn't get to the computer before I had to leave for a 9AM meeting.
I think I have sinucitis (sp). I get it every year about this time, the lovely pollen. I have a Dr. appointment at 4 and hope he will fix me up with an antibiotic. musinex is not really helping.
We go to the Senior Apartments tonight to give them a St. Patrick's Day party. They enjoy it when we do things like this and are a cute bunch of folks.
Probably go to bed early and read some more of "The Shack" My women's group is having a book discussion on it a week from Saturday and I still have almost 1/2 of it to read.
have agood day all, it is a pretty day here and fairly warm.
