What's New, Tuesday?????
Good luck with that insurance crapola.
Debbie

You know, after my colonoscopy, I've been fine, just hungry. I couldn't drive home, I know, or do a whole lot else, and I was really talkative (but then I'm always really talkative, so what else is new?) I said a few things I kinda regretted afterwards ... had to laugh about them (nothing really bad, just stupid). I remembered them, just had to tell the coworker who drove me not to repeat them to anyone.
HELLO....well nothing new here just another day...i am off work today and am waiting for diane to come pick me up to go to this PC store with her to get a part for her pc...i am off work today and need the day to relax!! sure was busy over the weekend thats for sure!!!
rick is still laid off and is miserable sitting home doing nothing...said he would rather be at work...WOW!!! he said before i came into his life he would be happy laid off and sleeping in everyday!!! guess i am making him into a good man huh?? even his boss commented on that....i am good for rick!!! (patting myself on the back ;))
bandit needs another haircut but no money for that right now....hope he doesn't mat up again...i have been trying my best to brush him and he hates that with a passion!!! he isn't a sissy boy at all thats for sure!!! rick said he took his BMX bike out the other day and took bandit for a ride on it...now THAT i would have loved to see...LOL
have a sore spot on my right big toe. looked like an ingrown hair??? this morning it has a red sort of swollen spot there and it hurts some. hope it isn't gout!!! but then my big toes and then the toe next to them are turning crooked...my feet sure look weird now!!! i also am getting calouses on the sides of the big toes...my shoes fit good and not sure why i am having all this trouble now with my feet!!!
speaking of trouble...anyone of you that had a root canal have trouble with eating hot food? when i chew hot food on that tooth that had the root canal i have major hurting pain!! guess i should call my dentist and ask him why i am having this pain. i wish i would have had it pulled instead of the root canal!!! if i can't chew on that side now why not have it pulled and save all that money!!!!
speaking of money...the treasury department of michigan is after me to repay the home heating credit they gave me last year!!! i set up a repayment plan and now they want me to pay more money than what was set up and if i don't pay that they will come after me in my wages and bank account!!! now how can they do that??? i tried calling them and ofcourse all lines busy and please call again...so i sent yet another letter to them and asked them to call ME when they have time to talk because i can't afford to pay the minutes on cell phone waiting for them to answer!! guess i should just take my money out of the bank so they don't get it huh??? LOL like i have money....hahahha just enough to pay the bills and maybe eat and gas for the car. ricks unemployment hasn't gotten here yet. not sure when he gets it. oh well we will make it one way or the other i guess. but money sure is tight right now!!!!
well i best get off the pc and start my boiled dinner. hopefully it turns out good. but then how can you ruin a boiled dinner??? LOL watch me!! hahahaa i hate the electric stove and oven!!! so different than the gas stove i have always had. oh well.
my sister got her new puppy this weekend. its a tri color ****er spaniel. she named her gracie. i think she looks more like a molly than a gracie....but its not my dog. she siad she is into everything and loves to tear up newspapers. well my sister is not the cleanest person in the world and her house shows it...so the new pup has a huge play ground of filth to play in. my sister said she isn't leash trained or housebroken. go figure...she is just a baby so what did she expect?? sighs...
hope you all have a nice st patricks day today!!! going to be in the 60's here today they claim...i hope so!!! might take a ride down to the lake and see whats happening there.
I have a sweet potato pie in the oven to make for the St. Patty's dinner at the church. That is a big project for the mission committee each year. Marcia and her husband Joe does it every year with some help from others in the church. They serve from 4-7 and I couldn't even begin to figure out how many hundreds of dinners they serve. The community waits for this fund raiser each year and you can figure out who a lot of people will be. I am making the pie for the desserts and I am pretty sure that will be the only one like it. I have such a good recipe for this. It is send hubby to the store to buy one and preheat the oven to 400* and bake for 60-65 minutes. How much more simple can you get? I have never tasted one and I sure from the smell of it I would love it. That would be a bad thing!
It is suppose to get to 72* today here. The sun is out and it looks so nice. It is already in the upper 50's and so I have no doubt that it will get to where they think it will. The rest of the week and beyond is going to be in the high 50's. Yep....I think spring has sprung around here but I am not going to say it to loud.
I took DIL to get her ultrasound and NST yesterday. They say she is 35 weeks and 5 days and baby is 6 pounds 4 ounces. She is having contractions and felt some the other day. She wasn't sure what they were but I told her after she described them that was contractions. I told her that I believe he is going to make his grand appearance by the very end of the month. Her eyes got as big as dinner plates. I didn't get to go see the ultrasound though. She was called and she got up, put her purse by mine and asked me to watch it for her. Then off she went. My sister told me that she sounds like one that just doesn't think of things. She might be right. I did tell her that I was going to make a blanket for him and I would love it if they brought him home in it and she told me that they were buying one. I just looked at her and said "Oh." and left it at that. Needless to say my feelings were hurt and I have thought of that all the time off and on. I refuse to put myself in that position again. I am not sure why I do now. I just keep putting myself in the spot to be hurt and not again that is for sure. I will do what is expected of me and not another thing. I am tired of being hurt all the time.
I guess I had better go. I am going to have to tend to my "homemade" pie soon. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers and special thoughts are going out for those who want or need them. Don't forget to smile for yourself and others. It might be the only smile that they see.

Wow, it's 57 degrees here and sunny, supposed to get up to the high 60s today. It's spring and St. Paddy's Day. My coworkers were getting together at a brewpub for lunch, but I don't have any money, so I didn't go. No one offered to treat me (I was hoping!). I had to save some money for tomorrow, because my former cat-sitter's cat rescue is having a fundraiser at Culver's tomorrow and I wanted to stop there on the way into work and pick up dinner. So I have just enough for gas and dinner tomorrow.
Got a flier in the front door yesterday from the condo association that they're having a community yard sale April 16-17 ... great! I have so much junk I'd love to get rid of, and it just so happens that's a week I have off. So I can spend the two days there with my junk and hopefully make some money. Now I just have to get a table. I gave a big table to my brother (used to have it when I did craft fairs), so I asked him to bring it when he sees me at Easter. Just have to remind him.
The AIG fiasco is a mess, and it angers me too ... but my brother Gary works for AIG and he worries that his "employee reward" of $792 will be rescinded now because of this. He's just a low-level manager and not getting the mega-bonuses, but he's worried about his job, period. AIG was stupid to use the fed's money to pay those bonuses. How callous could they be? I fear he will be unemployed soon, even though he works for the insurance division, which is still very profitable (he prints the policies).
Well, everyone enjoy the sunshine and the corned beef and cabbage and the green beer ... I don't think I'll have any of those. Sometimes one of my coworkers brings in corned beef and cabbage on St. Paddy's Day ... maybe I'll stop at the store and buy some shamrock cookies or something.
Have a good day.

This is March break and I'm loving it. The students are gone, but I'm not really off; it just feels like it with no classes to teach for a week. All hell breaks loose when they return because only 3 weeks will be left in the semester and there will be finals, papers and seminars to mark. I'll teach again in May and June, and then I'll be off for July and August - can't wait!
Brenda - I just have to answer back to your "Top of the morning" with a "and the rest of the day to you". I'm Irish on both sides (my mother's surname was Kelly and my dad's was an O' )
Grammylew - my father's family came from Northern Ireland (they wore green) and I know the difference between those who wore orange and those who wore green. I sure hope that our ancestors weren't fighting!!
It is a BEAUTIFUL, warm, sunny day here in southwestern Ontario and I am going outside to enjoy every minute that I can then it's off to see Slum Dog Millionaire tonight. Life is good. Hope you all have a loving day.
Margaret
I could easily do a 10 or 12 hour day, but 16 - no way.
No corned beef and cabbage for us tonightI like it, George doesn't. One of the doctors brought several heads of cabbage to work yesterday that she caught at the St. Patrick's Parade Sunday. Last night I cooked the two I took with a little bacon, some onion, and garlic - delicious. We may have that tonight with our beef/bean/cheese enchiladas. Maybe I should rethink the cabbage with the beans

Talked to my baby sister last night. She's also seeing her cardiologist. Said she's been having chest pains for over a week - probably stress related. Several years ago she was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse, so she's stays on top of that. Stress coming from the fact that she and BIL are hosting a St. Joseph's Alter Sat. They've made hundreds of Italian cookies, ordered cakes, have someone making stuffed artichokes, our nephew and his friend are frying fish. The big kickoff will be Sat. at 11:30 with the blessing of the alter by a deacon friend of theirs.
Break over, back to work!
Debbie

I'm dressed in green with a green ostrich feather in my hair! I'm ready for the party at Kelley Bros. after work. It's TOPS night and I was going to just skip it this week but my daughter says I have to go- they are having a surprise honoring for me because I've lost over 100 pounds. Sooo, I will take an hour from my other party and act surprised at the honoring. I will be having my corned beef and cabbage at Kelley's with some green beer. They always have Irish music, bagpipes and Celtic dancers too. They have these great toasts- you stand on the bar to give them. Maybe I will find a limerick to tell....
