Happy Monday to All!! Yesterday was catch up on sleep day. I even missed church
from falling asleep before start time. (Inever do that) So today will be back to looking for work day for me!!
Still have not heard from the guy where I thought I had a job, so, it's still looking time
even if it turns out to be Taco Bell for now. This down time is driving me crazy.
I tend to eat more due to bordem & that has got to stop.
Spring has for sure shown up out west in AZ 80 yesterday & should be today as well.
Go out & Make it a great Monday!!

Good morning, George and my OFF family. Hope that this Monday is good for everyone and most importantly that everyone stays warm and safe.

Today it is a bit colder and there is no sun shining either. I am cold but then again that can happen when it is 70 outside so that is no big deal. I hope the sun comes out but I missed the weather last night and so far this morning so I am at a loss for that knowledge.

I have to take Carol my DIL to the hospital for her weekly ultrasound. She had one on Friday but they said that she is to have one today also even though they are good for one week. They are keeping a close watch on Baby and I am glad about that. She told me Friday that she is just ready for this whole thing to be over. I told her that it won't be long now. She is not Miss Personality if you ask me but she is my DIL and so I put up with her. She is better for now since she is pregnant but I am sure that when it is over and done with she will go back to Miss Sparkling Personality. Oh happy day!

I had to take Bill's cousin to the hospital yesterday afternoon. We were there for 3 hours and then they came out and said that they had several ambulance arrivals and the wait would add another 5-6 hours of waiting for everyone. She got tired and said that we would leave. She called her sister to see if she take her to the doctor today if she could get in. I love her to death but she is one that has to have something wrong with her all the time. I just don't understand that since it is hard enough with the things that really happen without working on adding more to it. I don't understand people who do that. I am so happy with the fact that I am not as sick now as I use to be. But from my observation it seems like that there is a lot of people in Bill's family who is like that. There is times that Bill gets that way too but I smash those ideas soon enough. Thank heaven!

I guess I had better get to moving. I am sending everyone love and hugs and prayers and special thoughts for you too. Have a wonderful Monday and don't forget to smile pretty at everyone.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Hi George and my OFF family:

I fell asleep last nigh****ching baseball -- the World Baseball Classic game between Korea and Mexico. It was a good game and Korea had a slight lead. Two big home runs. I tried to stay awake and actually was in some pain and didn't think I'd fall asleep. But I did. Woke up when the TV went off and then thought, well, I guess I was tired enough.

Got up after 9 this morning and was considering going back to sleep when Scooter jumped on my bladder (or around that area) and boy, did I have to go then.

It says it's 45 degrees today ... a little cloudier than yesterday but the sun is peaking through. Just saw someone ride by on their bike. I wouldn't mind getting a bike secondhand, just to see how I like it ... it's been so long since I rode a bike (other than the exercycle). But my knee has to get  better first. Yesterday and today, it's hurt a bit. I didn't exercise yesterday because of that, but I can't put it off today again. Got to keep it moving.

Well, I should get going and get on that bike. Have a good day.

Hi George and everybody!

George, I too am ready for some baseball.  In about another month we'll be seeing the Z's play their first game of the season.  We have tickets for March 31 for the LSU - Tulane game.  I couldn't believe what we had to pay for this college game compared to the $8.00 we pay for the minor league tickets.

Nothing new or exciting here, it's a dreary, rainy Monday.

Who are the Zephyr's a minor league team for?  I think it was the Mets at one time.

George, we are currently with the FL Marlins.  Previously with the Mets, (I think for a while with the Washington team? Nationals), and started out with the Astros.

I hate when they bounce around from team to team, it is hard to get favorite players that you can keep an eye on, as they move on to their organizational team.  (Probably about 1/3 of the roster, and normally they are the better players).

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Greetings..It sure is a Monday, I feel so down and I am not sure why. It was a nice weekend, I got some yard clean up done and cut a lot of stuff in the church yard, I sure have been itching to get out side. Today we are suppose to see 70 degrees. I pick up Faith ( grand D) this afternoon and we go 35 miles to our Legion to prepare for tomorrow s Corned beef and cabbage feed. Oh I made mine last week for our work pot luck and if I say so mysef it was the best I ever made. I gave mom some and she left a glowing message on my phone about how awesome it was, what a nice compliment. I did my first Curves work out.. O M Gosh. I looked around and thought these are all very old women, how hard can it be? I have been terribly sore ever since. I really have to get into a 3 times a week schedule for it. My hips hurt so bad and I twisted something wrong in my back.. The joy of exercise.

Aloha Jean......I'm so sorry you are feeling down. I KNOW how that is......I have had my ups and downs lately, too.

I'm thinking of joining Curves again. Now that it's covered by Medicare, I have no excuse. I wonder though if I'll get the strength workout that I need to firm up arms and thighs. I am considering a regular gym, too.....just can't make up my mind. I went to Curves for about a year when I was still heavy, and it really did help.

How did you prepare your corned beef? I have a brisket in my frige that I'm doing tomorrow and I was just going to follow the directions on the package. But IF you have some hints to make it fabulous, please share!

I'm sending you a hug and hoping that it helps you know how special you are, and lifts your spirits today.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Thanks for the hug, one can never have too many ! I am feeling much better today, it was just one of those minor cloud days. You have probably done your corned beef already, but I will share anyway. I took one of my onions, sliced it  and split the rings then I cooked it in a large frying pan with a little oil, when the onions were nice and glazed, I took them out and put in my beef and browned it on both sides, about 5 minutes each, Then I just put all my veggies ( the cooked onions, a couple of quartered onions, carrots and  whole small red potatoes in a roasting pan with the beef on top filled about half way with water and some beef boulion cubes( oh yes I put the little bag of spices on the meat.)Slow cooked in the oven, about halfway through I spooned the veggies on top, having the meat on the bottom. I don't know if you get the same kind of brands that we do. But this older lady was going on and on the other night about Dont buy a skylark brand of Corned beef, it never turns out well. That got me to thinking that sometimes I had bought Skylark) they always tend to be on sale cheep) So I bought a differant brand, this one came from Walmart, and had California in the name. So Now I don't know if it was the my extra love I put in it or the brand that madeit better. But the grandkids came over last night and actually asked if I would warm them up some.
