carb addict
YUP, THAT IS THE FIRST STEP!! Now, the next time you are in the store buy
some cheese sticks, lean protien meats, apples & do not bring the bad carbs into the
house. Even if you have others in the house that can eat them, tell them while you are
working on this, please eat them somewhere else. Like the chips & sugar stuff. If you
don't start changing habits now, before you have surgery it will be lots harder down
the road. Start cleaning out those cupboards & NOW. Just a friendly Nudge not meant
to hurt. Hope it helps.

I am pre op but I know from past weight loss efforts that the first few days going off carbs are the worst. The longer you continue to eat carbs, even small amounts, the longer you will want to eat them.
If you can get through a few days without carbs you can get over them. Eat everything else but carbs. When you think you are "starving" eat protein, low carb vegs, cheese nuts anything but carbs. It will get better,I promise, but you just have to start somewhere. Good luck, you CAN do this!

Jeane, I love carbs too, that's what got me where I am today. I've found if I keep track of what I eat each day, it's very helpful to me. You can too, if you want.... http://www.livestrong.com/ and look for "my daily plate". Please, don't beat yourself up about this though. You will be alright as long as you are aware of what's going on with yourself. If you don't like protein shakes, you can get enough protein from your foods. I love string cheese, hahaha, I'm like a kid! Good luck to you, Jeane. Maybe posting your meals and snacks on here each day when Linda does the daily posts?
