Super Saturday--What's New?
Aloha darlin Susan....Couldn't resist jumping in when I saw that YOU started the thread. I'm glad you are having a rest time in your life. Time to slow down and smell the roses, eh?
Me, too....on needing to stop and reflect, appreciate and shake off the worries. Money worries have been keeping me trapped in a negative place for the past couple weeks, and I don't like it. So, today I'm declaring a "no worrying day." And right now I'm watching it get light outside, and there is hardly a cloud in the sky. It will be a blindingly beautiful sunrise in about a half hour.
Yesterday morning I actually put on my swimsuit and sat on the lanai for an hour soaking up the morning sun. It felt wonderful because there was no wind. It has been COLD here and when the wind blows, it chills the air and we all feel like we're in the arctic.....Ha!
Last night we had our girls' night at the movies....watched Hawaii and ate pot luck pupus.....yum. The movie made me mad and sad all over again at what the white man, religious zealots, did to these beautiful islands. They almost extinquished the Hawaiian race with the diseases and greedy endeavors they brought here. It was a hard movie to watch...but I'm glad I did. I will remember to try harder to be gentle to this beautiful place which I now call home.
Here's hoping you all have a great day.......and that something wonderful happens to surprise and delight you.
Aloha nui loa,
Maui Karen

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hi Susan and my OFF family:
Here I am, bringing up the rear. You know I don't get going until late on Saturday. I didn't get up til after 11 ... then didn't get out of bed til nearly 11:30. Went to make my protein shake, but couldn't get the blender jar off the stand, so I was trying hard and leaned against the buttons ... brrrrr ... protein shake all off me, the floor, etc. Plus, somehow, I unscrewed the jar from the base. I have to make sure it's screwed back on properly or I've broken yet another blender. And this one isn't that old. I will call Black & Decker if that happens and ask for a replacement.
I'm just sitting here drinking my coffee. I was planning not to get out of jammies today ... I'm so tired. It's sunny but not too cold ... 41, kind of warm for West Michigan in March. At least it's sunny, we like that here. I have no big plans ... jus****ching baseball, basketball, reading, exercising (I didn't exercise all week after Monday, other than the stuff I do on the bed, and last night I didn't do that either, I was so tired). I'm not even cooking much all weekend.
Oh, and I heard from Paulette today ... she's on her way back from Alabama. She and Earl had a good time.
Maui Karen, after you talked about "Hawaii," last week, I had to watch it, too ... I have the VHS tape so I watched it last Saturday. Such a good movie, although I really get to hate Max Von Sydow's pompous minister. In the end, he turns out OK, when his wife softens him. Too bad it took too long. But it's a great movie ... the book is good too, although the first 100 pages is a geology lesson and kinda boring.
Susan, did you get my message last week about Saint Bella? My hair stylist is interested, she runs a Regis salon ... if you PM me, I'll send you her e-mail and you can e-mail her about it. Get in touch with me, she may be able to help you!
Well, I should get on the bike. Have a good day.

Hi Susan and all my OH family!
I know I have been MIA for a few weeks. Things are going fine here in NC. I am in the middle of planning a 40th class reunion for my high school class of 1969! The plan is for August so I will be really involved until then.
I have caught a bad head cold from my loving DH. It seems to want to linger so I will sign off and crawl back in the bed.
Hope you all have a great day.
Hugs,

Good afternoon Susan and OFF family
My cardio appt went well yesterday. No answers yet obviously. Testing to start with extensive blood work, stress test, echo, and I'll have to wear a halter monitor. We'll go from there. I really, really like this doctor. He asks questions, and most important, he listens. He's rather young - 40, went to the medical school where I work, and knows some of the doctors in my dept. EKG yesterday normal. BP, and pulse while a little low were in the normal range. I'm to monitor my bp and pulse a couple of times a day. The blood work will be done one morning soon, some tests are scheduled for Apr.1, and the earliest they could do the others is Apr. 13. I'm guessing he doesn't think anything serious is going on since there's no RUSH on the testing. He was very impressed that I brought my medical history, meds, and vitamins all typed up to be added to my chart. He was also quite impressed that I'd had wls.
Enough about the medical stuff! Didn't get to bed until after 2 this morning. After playing on the computer until well after midnight, I went down for a bottle of water and my meds, got interested in thumbing through a magazine and didn't get back upstairs until 2:30. Woke at 7 and hit the floor running. Shower, finished laundry (that I started last night), cooked filling for beef and bean burritos, chopped veggies for stew that I have in the crock pot, cleaned up the kitchen, then George and I were off to a movie. We saw "Miss March". Totally dissappointing - silly, raunchy attempt at comedy. What was I thinking? I thought it would be more along the lines of that old Sandra Bullock movie where she makes everybody think she's the fiance of the comatose guy - Lord, I can't remember the name of that movie. We came of out the movie to find it had apparently stormed while we were in there. Some areas of the parking lot had several inches of water. My Prince made me wait on the curb while he trudged through water half way up his knees to get the car. We were going to go to Sam's and a few other places, but his shoes and pants were so wet, we came home. Ooh, the stew smells so good! The sun is peaking out, and I'm going to head out to the grocery for a few things I forgot earlier in the week, like tortillas for the burritos, rice, and garlic.
Plans tomorrow are - weather permitting - to take Ethan crawfishing. I'm not crazy about that - if I want to spend time with him, I gotta go. I'd rather go fishing, but George is not up to handling the boat and catching big fish yet.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Debbie

Good evening folks!
I helped out at a Rummage/bake sale for the UMW this morning and it went pretty well.
I had a wonderful nap!
My grandson's class won the regional "Odessey of the Mind" and he will get to go to State in a few weeks.
I have started working on my income taxes (major accomplishment for me)
I don't have to go anywhere tonight!
A good day.
