George, you seemed to have reined in your menu! I find that when I am maintaining,it does not mean go nuts,I keep my basic menu and just add a little carb. You seem to be more peppey when you do not eat a lot of junk food,or is it my imagine?

Good morning Linda, George and all my OFF friends....

I am looking forward to learning how to maintain!  I just need to lose another 40-something pounds and I'll be with you on that.  I can't wait.

As for food... guess what?  Yogurt and turkey for breakfast.  I'm pumping in the protein like crazy.  I'm so glad my hair is done falling out.  Yeah!

Lunch is turkey (I love turkey) and veggies.

Snacks are clementines and yet more protein (turkey stick).  I also packed some unsalted soy nuts if I get the urge to crunch.

Dinner will probably be fish and vegetables but I'm not sure about that yet.  Maybe tuna on toast... we'll see.

Does anybody know how many carbs you really need if you're exercising your butt off?  I have been doing some serious workouts lately but trying to avoid carbs.  I'm wondering how many a person needs when they're exercising a lot.

Pleace, love & happiness  to you all on this beautiful sunny (yet cold) Thursday morning.

Hey Laura, I was told by my trainer to eat 1/2 banana before  then the other half after my work out.  You can do it with other fruit too. Sometimes I'll have 1/2 small apple w/ PB2 before and after, or a clementine before and 1 after.  I'm sure you get the drill.  Good healthy carbs and a bit of fiber, we can all use that.

Thanks Reggie!

That is a great tip and makes perfect sense.  I'm going to start doing that.  Also since I'm diabetic that would probably help the blood sugar stay up too since it tends to dip after exercising.

Morning to you, dear Linda. I hope that the day goes well for you. You are always in my prayers you know.

I have been running so much this week and I am glad that tomorrow is Friday and the end of my running around taking people here and there and everywhere.

Today food is nothing special. It just is and that is good.

B: sf oatmeal with sunflower kernels
L: half a pb & j sandwich
D: chicken and steamed veggies
S: I don't think there will be any today

It is just a cold day today. It is 21* with a wind chill of 9*. There is snow flurries sometimes heavier at times than at others. I am just tired of snow and cold I want spring to get here so fast. It can't be soon enough for me. I want flowers and trees with leaves and birds singing......the whole picture of spring.

I better go. I have some things to do while I am home and before my running begins for the afternoon. Gee....what I wouldn't do to go back to bed and sleep for a while. I guess one of the things is the time change but the one in the spring have never bothered me before. Oh well, I guess we change as we age.

Have a wonderful day and keep that smile on that pretty face. I am sending love and hugs to you along with my prayers.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

good morning linda and everyone

glad you are doing a bit better Linda, that is good news

i got the OK to start walking a little bit so that is great news for me.  will need another month or so of PT though they tell me

well i finally got on the scale without throwing the digital thing into a spasm, and my weight is about where it was before my accident. i had lost almost 10 pounds but managed out of boredom i guess, to put most of it back on.  im ok though, im still within 3 lbs of my lowest weight, so i just need to rededicate myself a bit.  hopefully as i start to walk around more, that will help as i have had virtually no exercise except for the PT and that is not much.

so far today the damage is coffee x 3
1/3 cup of friendship 1% whipped cottage cheese and a banana

soup for lunch

steak and 1/2 potato for dinner

gotta watch my snacks a bit more

have a great day everyone, hugzzzzzzz be safe and well, jacki
