What's New with You this Sunday morning?

Good Morning, I see my computer clock has moved itself forward. Haven't moved the rest of the clocks yet. Had a busy day yesterday for my birthday. Out to breakfast, working on some little fun projects here at home with Mike, and then out to Mexican dinner, my brother's treat. All in all, I think I eased into my 6th decade rather smoothly. I'll check back in later. Post away.

Oh, Karen my friend, life has just started..... 60's ain't so bad... I can only speak for 4 years of them but I'll let you know about that 5th one in a few months.  I think there is massive amounts of paperwork to be done when you are approaching it, so enjoy the first four.

You are an amazing lady and so full of life, you'll probably go kicking and screaming into the seventh decade.  Your mother was a wonderful role model and will keep you going into your NINTH decade...so it's only just begun, as Karen Carpenter would sing....

Kara spent the night.  That child sleeps on every inch of the bed. I picked her up at 4 yesterday.  We went to eat Chinese with chopsticks, then to Sally's Beauty Supply where she got pink lip gloss, then to Starbucks to play Farkle..and then home to bake Joe a cake...butter pecan.  Watched a little food network and went to bed by 8.  She had to put the Mumbaza netting over the bed because it's a girly campout...and of course, she pumped the bed up and down a few times.  Thank goodness we got it back to FIRM so I could be a little  more comfortable.

Today is getting the little firecracker up, dressed, and headed in Starbucks direction with the cake...then take her home... I'll have to rush back and get something done around here as I pharted around way too much yesterday.  This afternoon I cash in my Christmas present from my son as we are going to see The Rat Pack at the Majestic Theater as part of the Dallas Summer Musicals.  We are going for the 2 p.m. matinee and then dinner somewhere downtown Dallas.  Will be really great but will be working VERY late tomorrow night to make up for it.

That's all that's happening in my world.

Glad you had a wonderful day yesterday...

Hey Janet,

A couple of my friends here went to see the Rat Pack and loved it so much they wished they had bought tickets for the other nights, too. Said they laughed until they needed Depends.

Hope you enjoy it as much as they did.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KAREN!  I just had my 60th a couple of weeks ago.  And, Ron turned 66 on Valentines Day.  We didn't really celebrate as we were in CA bringing his mom here.  So, our celebrations will have to wait a bit as tomorrow we head back to CA to clean up her affairs there.

Today will be spent getting the little things done to get ready to be gone.  We are headed out to have breakfast with our mom's at the assisted living place here in town.  We don't think either one of them really grasp that we'll be gone for so long or why we are going.  But, the staff there will take good care of them while we are gone.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Cindy, Have a safe trip. Knowing that both moms are in good hands has to ease your mind. May you get things wrapped up and be back home soon.

Did I tell you that Hannah and Clara are coming to Lincoln City with us? Sure hope you're back home and can see us.

Take care. I know this is not an easy thing for Ron to do and to have you there by his side I'm sure helps.

Karen, it sure sounds like you had a wonderful birthday. I think that you have jumped into the 6th decade with grace and enthusiasm. Those are the 2 most best ways to do it. I am going into the last half of my fabulous 50's in a couple of months. I am going to finish those up with style and grace and go into the sensational sixties with the same things and maybe more!

Nothing new today. It is raining buckets here. We had about 2 inches of rain since yesterday and they are calling for another 2 inches today. I am so sick of the wet weather, whether it be snow or rain. I want spring to come with the wonderful warm sun and flowers. I am waiting but some days it is NOT patiently, that is for sure.

Going to church this morning. I don't really want to go but this month I am lay speaker and have to lead the opening prayer and call to worship. I got those picked out for the month and so that part is done. Now I just want to play hooky today but unfortunately I can't. Maybe there is a reason why I am lay speaker this month? Hmmm....a good thing to ponder.

Bill and I are going into Merrillville this afternoon to pay the cell phone bill.  I forgot to pay it and today is the last day to pay it before the late fee kicks in. I refuse  to pay them any more money than I already do. I think $80 a month is more than enough if you ask me. But it will be nice to get out and just go somewhere for a bit.

Better get movin' since time is wasting and I have to start getting ready. The shower is easy it is just putting on the ton of make up to make me look presentable. That is the time consuming part of getting ready.  Did I say that I am aging with style and grace? I should say style and grace with a bit of help!

I am sending love  and hugs  to all and prayers and special thoughts are going for all. Have a wonderful day today and don't forget to smile. It helps you and others.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Brenda, We might as well move forward with as much style and grace as we can muster! Doesn't do any good to fight it and it just wastes our much needed energy. By the end of the month I'll be receiving my first teacher's retirement check which is a very good thing. We're carrying a small mortgage on the new home and it will help with that as well as replenish my travel fund a bit.

Good morning Karen and all.

Karen, glad you had a good birthday.

I had a busy day.  Got up for work at 6:30AM.  After work I went to the gym for the third day in a row.  I am really doing it.  Then I went home to get ready for dinner.  Went out to dinner at a Sunday School class member's house.  About a dozen of us.  Nice evening.  Left there at 9PM.  Went to a birthday party for a friend who turned 50.  His band was playing at a club.  We had a great time.  Got in about midnight, then had to set the clocks ahead.  Stayed up another hour or so.  Now I am up and ready for church.  Going bowling after church.  Just busy, busy, busy.

Hope everyone has a great day.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
