Good Thursday morning
I wanted to wish everyone a great Thursday!
I went to a support group meeting the other night. It was interesting hearing how WLS has changed lives, both good and not so good in the way people cope with the new attention you get after the weight is gone and how people may treat you differently. The psychologist brought out how maybe the change is in you, since you are a happier person with a brighter outlook....maybe it's the happy you instead of a grumpy you that people are responding to in a positive way, and not just the thinner, attractive you. Great topic!
I attended my first nutrition class yesterday, which involved reading labels, etc. I have another appointment this month with the nutritionist, I believe, so things are moving along.
This is still a very big decision to make, so I decided to learn as much as I can in order to make the appropriate decision on whether to proceed. It's still scary to me at this point, i.e., the pouch, dumping, gaining the weight back, etc.
Thanks to everyone for the daily inspiration! Have a great Thursday.

In addition to your research I strongly recommend you start exercising if you aren't all ready.
This is not a diet but a life-style change. I am not on a diet anymore. I don't weigh myself, I go by my clothes. Food no longer rules me. I fuel my body now with the right stuff. I exercise 6 days out of the week. I'm a revision. The weight came off slow and now I'm a size 8 and holding.
Debbie - I've been walking on the treadmill, and doing deep breathing exercises to strengthen my lungs to get them strong. It depends on how well my dizziness/equilibrium on how much treadmill exercise I get, but my goal is 4+ times per week, vigorous, for 15-30 minutes each session.
Connie - Thanks for your nice comment. Worry - well, if you have a worry, let me handle it - LOL - I do enough worrying for myself and everyone else - lol - but I do work on this a lot. I'm a nurturing kind of person, so I think that kind of comes along with having compassion for others. Too much worry is not a good thing, but I try to do it less and less as I go through life. I'm actually getting a little better at it.
This forum is great. I'm learning so much information. Sometimes I feel like I can handle it all, and then other times I need to step back so I can be confident with my decision. The pros definitely outweigh the cons at this point, and the main factor is not to look at what I can no longer have food-wise, but know how much more healthy I am going to be and how many more things I will be able to do. Looking good in those beautiful outfits I envision myself in will be an extra perk, which is encouraging!

As for making a decision about the surgery just do your research and the rest will follow. I guarantee that. It will be something that you hear,
something that you read or something that someone says to you. At that moment you will have your answer. It is that simple. Just go with the flow and know that at the time you are suppose to know you will know.
I wish you well and if you ever need someone to bounce ideas off just let me know and I will help. I am a good bouncer.
