found some optisource post bariatric surgery formula vitamins yesterday at walgreens. cost me $26.99 for 120 tablets. one months supply. have to take 4 a day with meals. hopefully i won't forget to take these. i am trying to cut down on the 15 pills i now take to get my levels up to where they should be. i took the first one this morning and its pretty good. they are a citrus flavor and are chewable. will find out how they work when i have my blood retested end of april. anyone else taking these??
talked to my sister yesterday...she had surgery to have the stents changed in her kidney lines. said she was in awful pain with bladder spasams and also a bladder infection. not sure if and when she will have to have the bladder removed and a bag put in. all this from the radiation she had to have when she had her cancer a few years ago. she is lucky to have her bladder this long so not sure how much longer she will keep it. she was also telling me about a puppy she is going to get. its a tri color ****er spaniel. Thanks for all the kind wishes and support on my latest round of crisis. . . this sure does stink and I woke up this morning feeling very strange, as the last time I was unemployed was back in 1987 and because I was living a life that cost me my job, though I wanted them to fire me, but then again that is what I told myself to justify my behavior then, it was a short time later that I got into a 12 Step Recovery program and that has changed me in ways that have helped me weather the storms of life, but this on top of what I have recently experienced with my sweet Dillinger, has me reeling. I woke up today and felt lost and somewhat afraid, now after talking to my friend who has been on unemployment for the last couple of months and she filled me in on what to expect and told me how the stimulus package will help. So I feel a little less afraid for the immediate future. Hopefully, I can hang on long enough to get another job. The thing is when on unemployment, you have to be careful of the job you take, how it might affect your benefits and/or long term benefit, so can't afford to take work that pays too little, plus I need a certain income to be able to just pay my month to month expenses, not expecting what I made in NYC, but enough to pay my mortgage, utilities and basics. . . oh well, off to figure what expenses I can cut, to try and see if I can get my commuter ticket money back, parking pass money back, etc. . .
Have a wonderful day folks.
Prayers, hugs and positive thoughts, things can always be worse, Laureen

Laureen,
Tho I'm sure you're still reeling I see that creative mind at work. You're looking into things, taking positive action in areas where you can. That's the best thing to do right now. Stay busy, doing whatever you can to cut back and hang on. You have a wonderful mind so use it creatively to help yourself any way you can.
I think you are really right about the statement that it may be who you know not what you know that helps find you employed again. Never underestimate that friend base. They are often our best advocates.
Curious. . . NO warning? Or are you still employed for a short while? Don't know how you feel about retraining, but sometimes Work Source through the employment agency offers retraining programs to upgrade skills. I also think that there are programs coming into place to help people stay in their homes.
I know it's probably something you don't want to do, but if necessary could you take in a roommate? (No Candy, I'm not thinking Brad Pitt here, tho he'd have money and is cute he has a lot of excess baggage these days!) Hugs, Laureen.

You should be able access your state unemployment office online and even apply online. I was just on ours looking around, just in case, and it has all the states listed. Just click on it and you can see how much your area pays per week. Maybe you know all this already. Anyway, the stimulus pkg should help. But it is frightening being out of work and not knowing what the future holds. Best of luck to you and I am hoping Dillinger finds a peaceful end and lots of new playmates in heaven.
Good Morning Everyone,
Our little family is sure going through some tough times. I think we are just a microcosm of what our whole nation and probably the rest of our planet is going through. Way back when, in the 20s and 30s, we were kind of "unto ourselves." Now with our global trade, when one area gets out of balance it affects everyone and everything.
I know we have a long, tough road ahead of us, but we're sturdy people. I have found that when the going gets tough that I have strengths that I had no idea I possessed. In the long run, I am stronger for having had to go through tough times. Not fun and not something I look forward to but I survived. Sending positive thoughts to all of you.

Margo, bet that hair cut is really cute!
Susan, I'm assuming Saint Bella is the business you're in - so glad it's taking off. Keep those calories up so you don't disappear on us!
Grammylew, best luck to your DH on his venture.
George, do you ever rest?
Connie, you, Kyleigh, and your family are in my prayers.
Judy, yum - roast beef, love it but don't cook it too often. George tries not to eat too much beef. He'd eat fish or meatless almost every day if I didn't insist on cooking real meat.
Laureen, I wish you and Dillinger well. You are in my prayers.
What's new with me - my doctor's visit Monday revealed my blood pressure is too low. After a couple of tries, the best reading the doc got was 85/58. Yesterday I got a reading of 90/60, this morning 94/55. I have no energy and could nap all day. As of yesterday afternoon, the nose bleeds have started again, I'm hoping it's because of the extremely cold, dry weather we've had the last few days. Today we're supposed to be in the high 60s! On a brighter note, George is doing better. I notice he's still moving a little slower than usual. He says he's still sore, but improving.
Much love and many hugs,
Debbie
