New Around These Parts

I have never been checked to see if it all still works, but maybe with this new Doc we can get there eventually. I am sure the Stoma is enlarged as I can eat quite a bit at one time & that is why it is so hard to lose all of what I want too.
Thanks for th eWelcome. Can't wait to meet all of you

Welcome to our friendly neighborhood. Lots of support to be had and I just look forward to getting to know you better. Sorry to hear that you are struggling with the issues you are and hope that you will get the help necessary to feel better.
Best wishes, Laureen

Hi Marilyn:
You had your surgery just a few months before me; I got down to my goal but boy, I fight to stay there. I never did get to being normal BMI (so every year at our work wellness fair, I get to hear the nurse tell me that I'm overweight at 170 pounds and 5-3 ... yeah, well, I used to be 350 pounds ... now tell me I'm overweight!)
I know last year at my EGD (for Barrett's esophagus) I was told my pouch had stretched, and I know I can eat a great deal more before feeling full, so I have to watch myself. I've gotten into the habit of weighing myself daily and if I get over a certain weight, I get upset with myself. (Some of mine is water retention due to post-op issues after a knee replacement; but I also don't want to go back to being obese.)
I also understand about the back problems; I have chronic back pain from degenerative disc disease and spinal arthritis, and arthritic knees.
We are a good group and support each other a lot. I'm proud to know these folks; they've helped me through some rough times.

This is Deanna, your friend from about 49 years ago. : ) I found you here during a Yahoo search for your name. I knew it was really you when I saw the birthday page. (I've always remembered your birthday.) I was so excited to find you. Since this is the only way I can find to contact you, I joined up here. I've thought of you often and wondered how to find you. So sorry to hear about your pain and hope you are doing better after your MRI.
Dennis & I have five grandchildren now. All of our family lives close by in Orange County, CA. I hope we can keep in touch with you. You can find me in the local telephone book.
Love, Deanna
