Need help Was having band now changed to sleeve

After everything I have gone through come to find out my approval is for sleeve not the band...........Right now I am in freak out mode.Basicaly dont know all that much about sleeve so Im asking for help please.........................They have also given me a tentative surgery date .....Now I have to make biggest choice of my life.. Sleeve or nothing...

I'd go with the sleeve.  I will always choose to save my life.  Go to the sleeve board and start asking questions.  Get "Weight Loss Surgery For Dummie's" and read it.  Do all the research you can to find out everything you can about it so you will be successful.  That's what I have done, and continue to do on this journey.  Good luck to you.

You're very lucky you were approved for the sleeve.  (I presume you mean your insurance approved you)  I wanted the sleeve but my insurance didn't approve it.    I got the band instead.  From what I've read, with the sleeve your stomach is trimmed down to the size of a banana, but nothing is rerouted.  You will just eat smaller amounts.  People who have the sleeve are very pleased with them.

I love my sleeve!  Come on over to the VSG board.  They'll answer all your questions and more.  There are advantages and drawbacks to each of the surgeries, but the sleeve was good for me.  I'm over two years out and maintaining my weight loss without much difficulty.  Best of luck to you as you make your choice.
