I had problems with control after I got my new laptop in July. Could not seem to control that pad thingy. I wanted a mouse!
I went to Walmart, plunked down $20 and got a hot pink cordless mouse. It has an on/off switch when not in use, which saves the batteries. You can still use the pad thingy, even when the mouse is turned on. If you want to. Which I don't...

I couldn't navigate with that dumb old thing in the middle of the puter, so I also plunked down the dough for a wireless mouse. It sits on the arm of my recliner (no mouse pad) and I keep my laptop on my lap. The height of laziness I know, but I love it. I would invest in a mouse. I don't think anyone can clean up that space for you without your password to be honest, and I would be cautious about giving that out, but that's just me.
Hey Boo! I have been on 'puters since 1985,that is when they took up a whole room. I try to keep myself flexable and updated,I managed to get my new Betty Boop on there.
I am making myself use the paddy thingy,but I deleted my butterfly trying to shorten my space last night....sigh.
Olivia shortened the space,I can now copy and paste with this paddy thingy...when one is almost 58,one wants to stay in the loop,especially when a lot of my job is on these things..smile.
I shall not surrender..."I shall not go gently into the night". My grands are so smart even the 8 year old got a lap top for his birthday,and the 11 year old does his own animations totally....smile,heck,we all got 'puters.
They ain't leaving grandma behind.
